- Thinkpads have the best keyboards (which makes a huge difference) and are sturdy machines. Macs do have better attention to detail in some areas, for example the webcam built into a Mac is much better quality, but Macs carry some design features to a fetish level that decreases their functionality (for example, lack of USB ports on the Air, lack of screen tilt). If you don't like flat black, Thinkpads can be boring, but it decreases the chance of theft, and they last well. Thinkpads have a passionate but conservative community who decry quality slippage. The Microsoft Windows disconnect is a drawback of Thinkpads compared to an Apple, but the community ensures good Linux support.
