Wow i am always surprizes to see how people can't see the truth about new products. Palm pre in a nut shell is better than the iphone for what it can do. Hell, the htc touch pro and the strom is even a better phone on paper. you iphone lovers just kill me in the way u think. Just because you brought it doesn't make it better. iphone is a good phone. But it is not the best phone. It's just what you like. The pre is a very good phone. as is the touch pro, g1, Strom and others that can do more than the iphone. Sorry. it's just time for some of you to wake up.

I will begin saying I hope to be a pre fan. I have always been a palm fan and was hoping for a more "iphone"ish option from palm with a keyboard and they did it. However I think most people here defend the pre not mainly on its own merit now but with the hopes that palm continues to build on it. I can only hope that Palm adds more memory options, more apps, and video capabilities soon.

The Pre in it's current form lacks a lot in comparison to the Iphone but I think most items are preference based. There is one obvious fact however and that is that Apple and Palm are now the top runners which can only result in better products coming out soon. Seriously who would have thought that it would take someone this long to get even close to comparison of the iPhone? And Palm only got there by hiring one of the designers of the ipod.

So I do not currently believe that the Pre is overall better BUT the potential to jump ahead is there and it is going to be a great fight. To those who say the Pre doesn't come close and is dead I recommend you drink more apple kool-aid

, Wether you're in IT or a burger flipper, it has it all, as far as multi tasking, if i can be on the phone, text & surf the web, get my mail & take a picture with a couple flicks & pushes, I'm good! I've tried the storm, (joke) now, I'm in the middle of trying the pre, Apps on the pre, Facebook, Myspace, eBay, not the same, just mobile web "apps" the palm does have the luxury of having a slightly better looking display, albeit a tad smaller, it's got cool notifications, MMS, that seems to have a 10 min latency where ever you are. as far as embedded apps, I see no at&t media store on there, (no at&t icons anywhere) vs. sprint TV, some nascar thing & sprint nav. (that still cant find my current location btw). Cell service for both phones is about the same, video recording ? my ericsson p990 & w 600 had it back when the razr was the 400.00 phone that we all wanted, (it tethered in the dawn of it's life. remember when you could change all the sounds to fit your taste? thats non existent on the pre save for the cool ringtones if you're a chick. & speaking of a chick, the palm in black is much more feminine then the black iphone, thats why they make the white one. for all you girls out there.
it comes down to this. apple did reinvent the COMPLETE touch screen solution, it's as intuitive as any mac, down to their servers, I work on all of it ... I'm in IT & need a phone with a strong battery like the old treo i had, touch screen (kind of) & HELLA battery life. but it was TWICE the size of an iPhone. neither company is "american" by any means, sure headquartered here, but just like wal mart, all their stuff comes from china, RIM got some kudos for at least being a canadian company that assembled their wares in mexico, but that's all china now too. ( I have issues with my toothpaste being made "accidentally with the same ingredients as (polyethylene glycol) antifreeze), by a Communist country that ain't never giving back that plane. but that's a discussion for later when our current leader (the Manchurian candidate) leads us into socialism. point is this. the palm has shi*ty battery life as does the iPhone, i live on both, being that email & text has all but removed the human touch. i'd rather email photos on a smart phone so I can get it later on my laptop or send it to my other smart phone buddy to his or her email. so the same can take place. rather than mms a compressed crap pic that made no difference that my new hardware has a a 3 mp camera because it's not even a half a mp in size when i got it. (slr cameras are now over 12 mp now btw.. you gonna mms a 15 mp tiff or raw to your friend ? doubtful .. even email would have trouble with that one. it's neat that ican use a tactile keyboard with my thumbs, albeit a tad faster with having to shift the keys & go through a list of symbols like i did when i t9'd on my razr. my thumbs hurt btw. way less impact on a "touch screen" technology is a TOOL not a necessity. probably why a drive a car that is a reasonably priced sports car that gets 21 mpg & eats a vette in a 1/4 mile. & it's JAPANESE! Because American union labor has taken the same turd & polished it till it finally washed away. now we're gonna make Yugo's per our fearless leader! who told america to stay out of my city & not waste their money here. Wake up, Spend your money & show your friends that you can be different, because YOU say you can. do what I did, Buy all of em & use the one that fits YOU! read some Ayn Rand & have an intellectual conversation with your partner, or Cry that some dude is gonna tell you what you already know is true. The Pre although the underdog, & a Great Device, just ain't an iPhone, the storm falls flat on it's face. I'm glad i shout down 3 BES servers now for 3 different co's. & use their active sync on their MSFT mail servers with their AAPL iPhone. Soon as 10.6 server makes its way into my hands i'll be shutting down that exchange server too! CDMA is old, & although more reliable, still has no signal where there are no towers or RF to hit the towers. GSM same thing. i could argue every point, although the iPhone has no NEW features & it freezes a lot , The Pre crapped out on me twice yesterday, syncing from palms own web site.( it is still 1.0) the storm makes a nice paperweight. my iPhone gets used till the battery dies that day & if i need to use a phone that syncs, does pics, video, music mms .. sms, email.& yes even bluetooth data transfer!! i pull out my ericsson t637. Get on my PK Ripper pretend I'm still 18 & go table top a few ramps to take out my aggression on Dumb Middle America :)

I do not believe people comparing two phone and one is not even out and no one has used the new Iphone. I have a iphone 3g and am upgrading to the 3gs which at that time I will know more about the new 3gs but I think the pre is a very great phone. The only thing that worries me is will palm have enough strength left to take into the top phones. Also sprint is losing customer which will make it even harder on palm.

The best is the iphone 3gs. Iphone 3GS vs palm pre at http://www.clashem.com/phones.php?id1=1196&id2=1148&id3=63 gives a better perspective of the clear winner in each spec category. If you factor in the app market, apple also has a clear advantage.

As a current iphone 3g owner. Also had a 1st gen iphone. And will also be purchasing the 3gs. I couldn't be happier. Never had one problem with at&t. The pre has a good os but the hardware is just as bad as the g1. Sprint? anyone who thinks sprint is any better then at&t or verizon should have there head checked. I don't care how cheap they are. You get what you pay for. And what is with all these people saying" so what if the iphone can do that now my phone has done that for years now". You people are so dumb. This may be true but does it do it as good or with the same ease as the iphone? Nope. You know what also makes me laugh is that palm, nokia, rimm(blackberry) and samsung have been making these smartphones FOR YEARS like you all like to say. But apple is in for not ever 2 years and smokes them all. lol

The release of iPhone 3GS states that Apple is now expanding its new product. However, the basic application of iPhone is unchanged---we can still use it to play movies or music or MTV. I'm here to recommend you a best DVD to iPhone converter, but i want you to expierence yourself on website: www.pavtube.com. Make it an adventure.
