Having been an SLR user for well over 25 years, and a DSLR user for about 5 or 6 years and a Professional wedding photographer. I must congratulate you on how you have encapsulated such great advice (or advise) as you in the USA spell it!!

A very informative little article with great links which I dont think anyone, anywhere could have portrayed more accurately - My advice is remember in short 6mp get you an enlargement to A3+ without loss of quality 10 or 12 mp gets you basically an enlargement to the size of a domestic internal door! without any loss of quality - so think about it carefully, are you paying for overkill? something you dont need?
