Ok it's faster, it's voice activated and there's a compass. Is that worth spendingth extra $100 or $200? I'm not very familiar with the iphone right now but was thinking of getting one; I was gonna get the 3G, should I get the 3GS instead?

If you want more than 8gb of space, you won't have much of a choice. The 3G is only being held over for the low end model. 8gb fills up quick with music, apps, and videos. If you want more space, you'll want the 3GS.

Hey Dude, it depends on your needs, If you really don't need video capabilty or th 32 GB storage space, I would say get the current Iphone 3G. I have the Iphone 3G (8GB) and I must say I Love it. The only thing I hate is AT&T, cause my 3G signal drops a lot to EVDO, even in the City. If your going to wait for it to be on Verizon, like would , we would be waiting for ever, at least 2 years. But I like the phone so much, and all its functions, like the gaming capabilties, I don't even use my PSP anymore. There's so much things you can get in the App store, a lot of free and low price, It's insane. And remember once the OS 3.0 comes out on June 17th , the current Iphone will have MMS, Bluetooth Stereo, Copy & paste , etc....
Like I said if you dont care much of Video and 32 GB space, you'll be happy with the Iphone 3G. and it''s only $99.00, Dammnnnnn, you cant beat that.

@mortiz10....

"The only thing I hate is AT&T, cause my 3G signal drops a lot to EVDO, even in the City."

I couldn't agree more; but since AT&T is a GSM carrier, the correct termonology for the "E" symbol you and I ALWAYS have on our iPhones stands for EDGE. EDGE stands for Enhanced Data rates for GSM Evolution. It's basically pre-3G speed, and it's unbelievably slow. As far as I know, EV-DO is primarily a CDMA based internet service.

Anyway, I'd really like to know the new processor speeds on the iPhone 3G S....

I have to say, though, I was hoping for a bit more than a memory upgrade and a stupid compass....Ahem, Apple!
Features I wanted to see:
AT&T TV
A Camera w/ a Flash
A new Aluminium casing, like on the newer MacBook models. (It gets really annoying when all your friends just have to see your iPhone, and then watch them rub their greasy fingerprints all over it. Plus, the back is rather easy to scratch.)
Perhaps even a new feature that would allow users to create folders or Stacks to place Applications in.... I just think that eight springboards can be a bit much. Of course, search is coming to the iPhone....

SO for now, I think I'll stick with my current iPhone 3G...

Yes...get the 3GS....better camera, video recording capability, and paster processor. You need to figure that you will keep this device for about 2 years or more, so you might as well get one that will not be obsolete as soon as you buy it. The new processor will probably generate more 3D type apps very soon, so I think that in the long run, you will be happier with the 3GS vs the 3G.

Improved battery life. Apple promises that the iPhone 3G S can hold up to 9 hours in Wi-Fi, 10 hours on video playback, 30 hours on audio playback, 12 hours talk time on 2G networks, and 5 hours talk time on 3G networks.

bunch of bs???i mean seriously...they promised even last time

I like the new iphone and planned on getting one (currently using iphone 1st gen) but while going through the process of ordering one on the apple website it says it costs another $5.00 for 200 texts on top of the $30.00 data plan, is that correct? it's currently included in my $20.00 data plan.

yes, that's correct. the 3G contract is more expensive in a few ways, and that's one of them.

iPhone 3G S has some nice new features and a great price. I knew that this year's iphone wasn't going to bring a whole lot of new stuff like last year's App store. Anyways, I am satisfied with this extremely fast new iphone and the price drop.

I have the BB Bold, overall, no issues & honestly I'm happy with it. II had the Curve prior and liked that one too. I also have a 16GB iPod Touch and am very happy with it also. I just got tired of carrying around 2 devices. I can honestly say that the iPhone is a much better product. I'll e picking up the 3GS later on this month & selling my Bold & iTouch on Craigslist.

The 3G S doesn't seem to be that of a major upgrade to the current 3G version. Hopefully there are some competitions to the iphone right now. The tech will only get cheaper from here on now. Who wants to be the guinea pig?

Bold vs. I Touch : I have both and would like to convert 100% to the I Phone. Problem: The I Phone does not allow you to save & file Excel, PDF's, Word or Power Point. You can only save J Peg's. I use all of the above in business (especially Excel) and this is a tremendous advantage the Bold has over the Apple I Phone platform. It's "Read Only" on the Bold but at least you can put these files where you can find them vs. rummaging thru 100"s of e-mails in hopes of finding that file. Not good , especially if you are in front of a customer.

If you an Excel attachment in the I Phone , there is nowhere to file it for future reference. With 1000's of Apps, hasn't anyone figured this one out ? Does the new Copy & Paste function allow to to place the above file formats in a specific Folder ? You can do this with the Bold (or Strorm). It is a Glaring Omission in the Apple I Phone program . Comments appreciated.

There will be no I Phone until this major problem is addressed.

If you get the iphone 3GS make sure you protect it. I just got some accessories at http://myGearStore.com for it. They are constantly posting 50% off coupon codes on twitter and are already cheaper than retail.

The release of iPhone 3GS states that Apple is now expanding its new product. However, the basic application of iPhone is unchanged---we can still use it to play movies or music or MTV. I'm here to recommend you a best DVD to iPhone converter, but i want you to expierence yourself on website: www.pavtube.com. Make it an adventure.
