Comments on: Slice of portability: Toast your bread on the go

Run this handheld portable toaster over your bread like a fancy butter knife and it toasts that side in your hand.

I want one honestly, minus the butterflies. This will revolutionize the toast industry. And I thought toast couldn't get any better.

Seems like this really only chars the surface of the bread so you don't end up with warm toast. It looks like you have to pass this slowly over the bread so this is the equivalent of waiting at the toaster for the bread to be done. Interesting idea and design but I imagine most people would rather throw bread into the toaster and do other things while the bread is toasting.

Elwood of the blues brothers would be after one. Now they just need to figure out how to portably make 4 fried chickens and a Coke for Jake.

This should remain just that, a concept. So once one side is done after 5 minutes, you have to turn it over and toast the other side, while you burn your hand with the side you just toasted? By the time the second side is done, the first side is cold already. Sounds like a fail to me. As for the 5 minute duration, I would think anything quicker than that and you could burn your hand if you're not careful. I think I'd rather use a magnifying glass and the good ol' sun.

Wow how lazy can people get, just toast it before you leave home and put it in something to stay warm. And this probably doesn't even work, like my Easy Bake Oven (what a rip-off!!) LOL
