It would be great to see a review of the Samsung PN50B550, to see if they were able to improve the anti-reflective screen over the A series 550. Also as a comparison to see if it is worth the extra cash to step up to the 650 series. I tried to purchase a Pn50A550 a couple pf months ago, but they got clearanced out before I could get my hands on one, and the new B550 is now less expensive than I can find the A550 leftovers for sale! Just want to make sure they didn't screw anything up when going Energystar compliant.
Thanks

Ok, I'm not an audiophile so can someone please explain to me if all of the new, slim, pretty, think HDTV's have sound that is on par with laptop speakers? We've had the jurasic Mitsubishi 50" rear projection TV that we bought about 10 years ago and recently decided to jump into the HDTV pool. We bought a 46" Samsung 850. Great picture but the sound was unacceptably poor. We also bought a 52" Samisung 750 which was better but still not anything like the old Mitsu. Are we really expected to turn on a whole audio/stereo system every time we watch TV? This may be ok for movies or the latest episode of 24 but I don't want to do that when I turn on the morning news! We tried spending the extra $300 on Samsung's separate sound bar w/ wireless subwoofer - issues. Had to return the 46" 850. Am I asking for too much to have a great picture and sound that's better than laptop speakers?!?

Hello David,
I love your comprehensive reviews and I would also like to request a Samsung 850/860 plasma test after you have done the Samsung 650 plasma.

I'm dying to know if the extra cost of the 850/860 over the 650 series is worth it. I know for one thing the 850/860 range has better quality speakers as well as thinness but i don't really care how thin a panel is.
Btw, this will be my first hdtv.

The reason I'm looking at a Samsung plasma over a Neo Panasonic one is that I have heard that the Samsungs' contrast holds up better in daylight viewing or when there is substantial ambient lighting in the room.

Please tell Samsung that I'm ready to buy now and that the waiting for your review is killing me. :)

...I'm in almost the same boat, except that i do fancy the thinness of the samsung b850/60 panel. please please please review one of these, preferably the b860, as in my view it is the most direct competition with the panny v10

I notice on your list of upcoming reviews you do not have the Panasonic U1 or V10 series plasma units. I think since the company has been doing well in producing great plasma televisions, only second to the Kuros, there should be more reviews of those units among your list.

Please review the LG 55LH90 LED backlit LCD tv. It has just been released and is the lowest priced LED backlit lcd on the market right now. This is a highly anticipated set and if you could do a review that would be great. Hopefully LG is good about sending you review units. Thanks.

Hello,

Will you be reviewing the new LG 50PS60?

If not and you've seen it in person, please advise on it's quality.

Thanks!

Hi David,

Waiting on the V10 like I see many of us are. Looking to see how closely it compares with the G10. Hopefully the only difference in picture quality is the 24p and the DCC.

Here's hoping you bump it to the top of your list if/when it comes in!!!!!

Can you make the upcoming HDTV reviews post a regularly updated permanent feature on the television page?

David, I am on board for the Panasonic 54V10...I intend to buy one as soon as I read your review, if it as positive as it seems we all believe it will be. Please push Panasonic on getting you a unit to review! Thanks for your insights...they really matter. I bought the Panasonic 3000 projector based upon CNET..and it is fantastic!

Would you agree that we are currently in between technologies as far as the HDTV goes and should probably wait at least a month or two to get a better idea of how the new models stack up.

Yeah, the MFing Panasonic V10 series! Isn't that a no-brainer, considering how much you liked the G10? Nice work lately on new Blu-ray players, especially when discussing their load speeds. Very helpful.

Anybody home? Sure has been a long time since the last HDTV review. What's the word on the V10? Samsung 860?

I also am dying for a review of the V10. When is that coming?
by Cubsfan101 June 4, 2009 2:06 AM PDT
Add me in for the V10 as well! The G10 is apparently very good and at a ridiculously low price... I want to hear justification for me spending extra money on the V10! Just a, "The V10 is as good as the G10 and looks totally BA" is all I need. You want me to buy one and ship it to you? How long would you keep it?

Hello DK,
Can you give us an idea when the next review will be published please?

Is it okay if I email Samsung and Panasonic and ask them to send you some review panels? I'll tell them I'm not buying anything until I see a test by David Katzmaier of cnet.com. Don't worry, I'll ask them nicely.

I think it would be convincing if other readers would do it as well.
