Netflix has posted a job listing for an "experienced engineer to lead the gaming platforms team," which indicates that Netflix video streaming support for the PS3 and Wii is probably in the works.

I'm glad to see they might be pushing forward with this. I just hope they don't want me to pay $10 one time and then have to reinsert some disc anytime I want to stream a movie. I'm lazy dammit.

I'm hopeful Netflix will officially arrive on PS3, but I doubt it will happen. Netflix's CEO was named as a board member for Microsoft shortly before Netflix was announced for the XBox 360. I hardly think it was a coincidence.

You can actually stream Netflix flawlessly on PS3 right now. I've been using the PlayOn media server for a couple of months now, and it works great. With it I can stream Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, CBS, and a bunch more, all full-screen and without lag. If you have a PS3, you should be doing this right now.

Don't wait for Netflix's official $10 version...

I'm sure MS got exclusive rights to consoles for a set amount of time. But netflix would be dumb to limit itself for a long period. With netflix available on a growing number of devices, including their own, it's "no big deal" to allow it on the PS3. And I'm sure that people, like yourself, have found that they can already stream on their PS3.

I'm positive Netflix will be available on the PS3 "officially", the question is when. A more important question- will it be HD?

Doesn't it seem more likely that they (Netflix) would be more interested in selling/delivering Games over their network along with their other entertainment content??

Wii, huh? PS3? Unknown. How about PSP, so I can just use a hotspot and watch movies streaming on that and not worry about using some of my download limit.

Yes, download limits will kill this, and with Wii having such a low resolution, it would be ideal to use the Wii and not use my download limit.

No one cared when NetFlix went to XBoxLIVE, and no one is going to care when Netflix goes to PSN & Wii.

Movies are available from multiple outlets. Netflix is not special. I don't get it.

I got netflix and a PS3. Why they lock the PS3 web brower to not stream it (when hulu can), I don't know. I am not going to pay another fee for what I already have.
