Web sites launch all the time, but they also shut their doors. We highlight 15 that bit the dust this year.
Let the debate begin: Was the iPhone more important than iTunes? Was anything bigger than Google finding a great business model? CNET offers its list of the 10 most important stories of the '00s.
so, anyone in the market for that kind of ultraportable 13" machine why not buy an macbbok air? if you don't like mac os x and you want to run vista natively, do it. a mac is the only computer on which mac os x, windows and linux all run natively or side by side if you wish so.
why buy inferoior hardware?. as it shows that a comparable laptop from dell is more expensive than apple's offering.
We are NOT Windows/PC fans. We look at specs, ability, function and rate them.
MAC AIR sucks.... So does this Dell.
This has a low power usage CPU and is small and stylish but slow CPU and slow GPU.
The only good thing about this Dell is that it uses Windows which corporate users that need something small will actually use, not like OSX which is for stand alone arrogant retards that pretend that they are well-to-do anti corporate types (but they simply just surf the web and blog).
I'd spend $2K on building a very nice desktop but for something that's going to be carried around, moved a lot, and possibly lost "no thanks".
Dell is really off on their timing by like 180 degrees. First they refuse to sell AMD processors when they were the best processor, then when Intel comes out with a better processor Dell decides to manufacture PCs with AMD processors.
Now as Apples sales are declining because of the economy, Dell makes a "Look Alike" that costs even more.
Do they have a plan or do those plans sit on some execs desk for one or two years before they decide to do something?
For the love of all that is good and holy, please visit your nearest Apple Store before purchasing this ridiculous product.
Failure:
1) price to performance---none
2) dell support---lousy
3) operating system---vista
What a joke!
FUBAR
Dell is trying to copy the MacBook here but just cannot pul it off. You just cant go making a laptop that looks like something else and expect people to see it as innovative and hip. Being stylish and hip has a lot to do with innovation and being the first to do something. This latest effort by Dell just solidifies their reputation as a follower and not a leader when it comes to cool computers.
Maybe Steve Jobs should get one just so he can have a good laugh and be reminded of some of Michael Dell's previous comments about Apple.
Please, Dell--keep us informed about the sales figures for this unit, OK? Please, please, pleeeeeeeease.!
I never see them "on the street" in coffee houses, etc.
I don't see them in any of the industries I am in or visit.
Who buys these K-Mart boxes?
Now they want to sell high-end laptops because they have models holding them?
I have to laugh Michael DULL.
Give your stockholders their money back already...
What's up CNET - calls from DELL???
Rather, the problem for Dell is to convince such people to buy their product rather than an Apple or Sony, etc. That seems to me to be the bigger problem for Dell because they have made their gold by using the low cost/high volume strategy. With a few exceptions (their nice 30" monitor is one example) most people don't think high end luxury when they think Dell.
So the real problem for Dell is to win the battle for the mind of the high end buyer, not worry whether such people exist; because I assure you they do.

- bad customer support and bad competion... how can they really expect people to buy a low end laptop that looks cool for 2600... people have really high computing needs today and a 1.4Ghz cpu just won't cut it.
