"Software goes for $199 to $399 at Apple.com."

I don't believe the price of e-book software from apple.com is the value you state. I suspect you have lost the decimal point.

I have become totally addicted to using the ereader on my iPhone .... I always have my book with me this way and it is small enough and light enough that it never becomes a burden to use, it's many options allow you to adjust it so that it is comfortable for your tastes. All in all a great piece of technology and a lot more convenient then carrying around the Kindle.

I use an e-book called "lbook v3" which looks pretty similar (no keyboard :) It has 200 MHz processor and runs a Linux, supports SD cards and can read doc, pdf, djvu and all the others can. I paid $300 and completely satisfied.
