I checked Amazon faqs, so those who ordered a Kindle and haven't received one yet will be getting upgraded to a Kindle 2.

WHat happens to people who ordered the Kindle in December or January. Do they get 1.0 or 2.0?

For what it does this is WAY overpriced by a factor of about 3.5x.

It looks like someone forgot to mention to them we are in a recession at $359 for a reader is not going to energize a new customer base?

For that price I'll buy a solid netbook and have far more functionality. I'll just have to pass on UR.

I think they already have textbooks. I am glad they did not use a touch screen for the interface the last thing anyone needs is to have finger smudges on something they are going to be reading off of for hours. It would not bother me on a phone but it would be pretty annoying an an e book reader.
