Comments on: Why Pre is the right move for Palm

Company became a leader in the smartphone field overnight. No small accomplishment, considering that no real demo units have been sent out and a mass launch is months away.

Problem is, the Pre won't be available for an unknown number of months. By that time, RIM, Apple, and Android will have pole-vaulted over the status quo. The smart phone market is too aggressively competitve to do the Microsoft shuffle -- announce products with great features, but then tell us that they won't be available until those great features are no longer so great.

Too little, too late. An 'A' for effort is great when you're in middle school, but it doesn't bring in buyers.
