Web sites launch all the time, but they also shut their doors. We highlight 15 that bit the dust this year.
Let the debate begin: Was the iPhone more important than iTunes? Was anything bigger than Google finding a great business model? CNET offers its list of the 10 most important stories of the '00s.
That leaves one conclusion; apps will not be available for the nano and it would be like a smaller version of the original iphone. It could also maybe be pay as you go.
I don't see apple coming out with this product though. The current price is already very cheap and makes the phone very accessible.
But as always, Apple NEVER gets anything right the first or even the second time. To prove my point... first the lame iPod, then the little improved iPod Photo and finally the iPod Video (with minor improvements in the sebsequent generations). Same goes for the Nano. First generation was alright, 2nd... *** like a square with such a small screen and the 3rd generation... finally the right size, good enough for the Nano. As for the iPhone, first generation - LAME - The world is moving towards 4G and Apple couldn't come up with even 3G. then came the iPhone 3G. And now it's about time for Apple to get the iPhone right.
blah..blah..blah...whine..whine..whine..
Looking at just these statistics alone goes (outside of all the other rave reviews) just goes to show that you're in a very small (but vocal) minority. Rarely does any company get anything right the first time. However, Apple did get pretty darn close with the v1 iPhone considering their sales just for their first-year 2007 release.
The iPhone is constantly evolving. Hopefully, heavily requested features will be added. But even without them, it is still a pretty impressive phone.
Think you can do better? Put aside your juvenile, childish whining and build your own. Apple can't get it right the first time? Let's see what you will do.
There is always the Android phone if Apple upsets you that much. Oh wait, Android has its own issues too! Well what a surprise. I guess you're the only one outside of Apple and Google that seems to know how to get it right the first time eh? Does Steve Jobs and Sergei know you exist?
Whiner....
Step outside North America and you will understand what the cell phone industry looks like where Apple is nothing. Ever looked at a Nokia phone which is not even available in the US (the latest models) because of how outdated the US cell phone industry is and how you have to live up to what your provider gives you as compared to the rest of the world where you as a consumer choose what you want. There are alot of phones which can do what Apple thinks it is "inventing something new".
Having said that, as an Apple & Google shareholder, I am extremely happy people are wasting money and buying the iPhone or the G1 which helps me by keeping the share price high. As a consumer I would never waste money on the iPhone when I can get Blackberry for FREE. iPhone is only design for consumers with its fancy interface and cool apps which in business world means nothing, something Steve Jobs never realized. The reality is even if you have a billion consumers it's nothing compared to only a few corporate clients which RIM gets it. Corporations will always spend more than consumers. Scream as much as you want about how cool Apple is, at the end of the day it's RIM and Microsoft making all the MONEY which is the bottom line for the shareholders who don't really care how the App Store is doing unless it's making money for them.
BTW I am actually glad that no company gets it right the first time because that's what allows the companies to get repeated consumers who waste money and get the first product (full of bugs) and come back again to spend money AGAIN when the product is all tested and works right. I am all for it - bringing the corp profits up which gets me better dividends as a shareholder :)
Welcome to the Capitalistic World where Corporations set the rules.
As for your comments on if Steve and Sergei know that I exists, I don't care if I am a nobody as long as I get my dividend and the share price stays high. Does that answer your question?
I have stepped out of North America quite often. I lived in Europe for five years and spent much time in Asia. So I know what goes on out there outside of the bubble called the "USA". I've also used RIM's and did "waste my money" on an iPhone. I know how people use their phones overseas (since I've used them too) and do see the differences in how other countries use mobile technology.
I also own AAPL (but not Google). I'm happy that people enjoy Apple's products. I'm happy that people buy G1 and RIM phones. I personally believe Apple makes great products that benefit consumers.
Consumers trump corporations when it comes to phones. Think about it. If a person at work uses RIM, he/she may very well have a personal phone too. Not always the case of course. But if that company downsizes and eliminates that employee, RIM will lose that one phone revenue but that person will still have a personal phone of some sort which may not be RIM.
Apple has been hugely successful with the iPhone. Especially since it was their first attempt into the smartphone market which at the time was considered overly-saturated. They redefined the rules. Any company would kill to be in Apple's position - RIM, Nokia included. Your very critical - borderline ranting - remarks about "a company" screwing everything up does not hold water considering the sales figures from pretty much everyone show that they are apparently doing something right.
Now it's possible you see something more that you strongly believe in that you feel they should be doing. I take the position that this company developed a new product that took what was a "dead market" by surprise and made a killing off of it in under a year. For some reason, that doesn't seem enough for you.
As an Apple investor, I think Apple is doing a fantastic job with the iPhone. It's not perfect. Nothing ever is but in general, you and a great number of people seem to not have the patience with companies and their products but are more concerned with making a quick buck and running off. Not what I consider to be investing per-se. Perhaps you should stick with playing craps in Vegas.
As a second iPhone, it might be good for the gym, beach or clubbing (less risk if it is lost or stolen) and it would probably increase MobileMe subscriptions, since people would want to keep the contacts, etc. in sync across the devices.
I'm not an iPhone guy, but I can see the value for something like this.
And about form factor. The image IMHO is fake. If Apple going to introduce new form factor, they gonna make use of the new form factor. And the form factor in the image changes everything to worst: even with original iPhone form factor, people complain that it is too small.
Free transform
Reduce by 20%
Horloge = Clock; Bourse = Stocks; Plans = Maps; Appareil Photo = Camera, etc. etc.
i understand why you'd post this, i mean, you got me here, but come on! cheap way to gain a few hits...
Another thing to notice here is that the OS in those photos is pre-2.1 (look at the 3G logo). If apple were making promotional materials for this in the last several months, why would they use an older version of the OS to do so? The commercials are always VERY up to date.
I think this is a fake drafted up over the summer.
Chock this image to photoshop.
Quit posting these stupid RUMORS and wait til they actually make an announcement!
Apple's best step would to take the "nano" technology and make the Iphone thinner, like Ipod touch thin. The only way to have a reasonable Nano type phone is if the screen were to remain the same size but the surrounding bezel shrunk. (mostly from top and bottom)
But I think it?s not $99 as it said days ago.
Here is a question, can it put dvd movie to iphone nano such as we do with dvd to iphone http://www.convert-video-dvd.com/dvd-to-iphone-suite.html#115 ?
