It might not be the legendary "Zune phone," but you can bet on the convergence in the near future.

Two of the three biggest cons with WM are the UI and the Media Player. Since the Sune has a great UI and a Media Player that is better than WMP 10, this would help take care of them. So from that standpoint this makes sense.

What concerns me is the third con, ie the sluggishness of the devices. Inability to easily close apps and poor memory management issues will not be solved by slapping even more intensive software on these phones. Multitasking on smartphones is great, but the way WM implements it , you are falling on your a$$ about every five steps when you try to walk and chew gum at the same time.

They will only try to make you see their light (LOL!). They wont be able to clarify anything for you. So far the most I have seen is "It's outdated" and like you pointed out, that is not clarification.

Whatever, iPhone, Blackberry, Windows Mobile.... I just want to make a call and I don't want to pay $400-$600 for a phone and then pay $10 a month for data on top of $99 a month for regular access. That said, Zune is more of a software solution than hardware, would be really easy to incorporate into any device, that is kinda what it does already with the PC and Xbox.

It is way too early for Zune to get involved in the cellphone industry. The iPod has been around since 2001 and has time to grow at its own pace. It even took 2 years to get the iPhone at least semi-smart. I do not think iPhone is a smart phone. Its a very expensive toy. Do not argue because it is a VERY EXPENSIVE toy. Who the hell wants a $70 base monthly fee for the iPhone. To get a reasonable plan for the iPhone considering the internet and normal useage it will probably get jacked up to $100 a month. I don't have that kind of money. Anyways the Zune needs time to be taken seriously by most consumers to dive into that market. I'm a huge Zune fan since I actually enjoy using it. I stopped taking Apple seriously after they discontinued the iPod mini. Biggest ******* mistake ever. Zune has to have a minimum of 20-25% of the mp3 player market to head in that direction. Much too early and is still in its infancy. Hell even the Zune software still needs some tweaking and expansion. But iTunes is the biggest ***** of junk software. I absolutely hate its guts. Such useless sacks of ****. Songbird is easily the greatest music jukebox of all time.
