Re: 10-inch Aspire One. "...a 10-inch screen will provide a welcome break from all that scrolling."
The size of the screen has nothing to do with the scrolling; that's determined by resolution. And that may be the same as 9 or 7 inch models. You can try that out on the HP Mini 1000.

Are you sure about that Mr. Al Meckler??? You are right when you said that size is "determined by resolution" ...but which resolution you will choose depends on the size of your screen. So if you have big screen you are likely to select high resolution so that you get the letter size that you want. If everything gets smaller that means that you can feet more content on the screen and pure logic tells you that there will be less scrolling! The problem is if you have small screen and you select high resolution...you will not be able to read anything because it is too small. That would mean that Ms. Michelle Thatcher was actually right!
I think that you do have idea how screen resolution work but you just wasn't aware that high resolution makes content smaller and not bigger on the screen! Hope this helps!!!

Dalmatian, what Al Meckler was saying is that the 10" model will likely have the same 1024x600 resolution as most other netbooks. If I remember correctly, the Asus 10" Eee has the same resolution as a 9" Eee. The only real difference would be larger pixel size and a larger keyboard.

everybody just needs to leave the facts to cnet, they are professionals, they kinda have a clue on what their doing.

What are you? 90 and 3/4 blind? Even IF netbooks gave a decent resolution for the available screen sizes, I can't imagine it'd be that hard to read unless you were losing your eye sight.

And mdsix is right--because this is a netbook we're talking about here, its likely the resolution will cap out at 1024x600.. or worse.
..which was what Al Meckler was referring to in the begining. Please don't be technical, especially if you don't get the facts right the first time. It just takes the focus away from the article.

I wouldn't bother with that Acer. The MSI Wind beats it in all aspects (including price) and it already has a 10 inch screen today.

I like the looks of the Acer and the thought of a 10" screen is great, but they only have B & G for wireless, not the N, which is important to me.
Thanks for the info.

The Acer is the much better deal as per my experience with an older Acer 17" lapper i`ve owned for a few years

I bought one Aspire One a couple weeks ago and loved it so much I just bought another. I'll keep them in every room in the house. They're fantastic, quick loading, great wireless accessibility, easy to use, easy to type, attractive.... The model I just got has the larger battery and it lasts about 5.5 hours! Can't beat it. No need to wait for a larger version in my opinion.
