Let's not lose sight of the fact that Circuit City has been getting hammered for years. Best Buy offers better pricing, selection and service in a physical store and Internet stores offer infinite selection and better prices. This is just another example of a bad company that can't survive a downturn.

I went to CC to purchase a sony micro valt flash drive that they had on sale on the CC web site and when I got to the store I was told it would be $44.00 not the $19.00 sale price on the web site,so when I told them about the price on the web site, the guy looked it up then went to ask one of those Firedog Morons and he told me they could not price match the web site!!!!!!What a joke I went to Best Buy and they did price match of CC's price and I did not have to put up with Brain DEAD morons like CC has.As far as I am concerned GOOD RIDDENCE TO BAD RUBBISH,I hope they all go under!!!!!!!!

I used to work for CC before moving to BBY. During the last month I worked for CC, they hired a car installation manager with now experience and NO DRIVERS LICENCE. So for the following weeks he had been ilegally moving cars. When he actually tore up a car, they let him back in the intall bay after a few weeks. Also, Rick Freeman, the install mgr, told us car audio guys to sell a Metra Smart Cable, but he wont actually use it in the install....

CC deserves to close down. I have hated them ever since they charged a big restocking fee on a laptop that I had for 12 hours and I wasn't happy with.

The real answer to Q: If I buy a gift card for someone this holiday, will the company still redeem it? And will returns be honored?

You're a complete fool if you buy a gift card this year from ANY retailer, especially one that just declared bankruptcy!

If you don't know or are too lazy to buy something for someone ASK them!

When does Circuit City start lobbying Congress for a bailout? I'm surprised I haven't read about that yet. =P

Losing Circuit City would be a blow to competition, so hopefully they manage to come back. They haven't really seemed competitive with Best Buy this year, but once they get their house in order maybe they can come back. I really don't want Best Buy running around with free reign to do what they want in the absence of another direct competitor.

most of my purchases are online, they are cheaper. I only bought my HDTV from bestbuy because I didn't trust shipping. No I did not purchase there extended warrenty. TV came with 18 months. Circuit city - could never find anyone to talk to. As for product knowledge I usually know more when shopping for something so I don't expect them to know more.

I always wonder why in retail that companies always lose focus on two key things that will keep your company a float. Two key things are PRICE and CUSTOMER SERVICE. If you focus on that guess what customers will come back. As an employee of CC I know we have great assoicates and horrid ones, but what company doesn't? I just think if Circuit just focus on whats works for the company and not worry about whatever else does, they will move forward. I just don't know why people shop at a store that advertise $50 to optimize a mac. O have you guys shoped at the new City stores?

I live in Phoenix, AZ and all of the Circuit City stores here are being closed. I was wondering if Circuit City would still honor the extended service plan I purchased for my HDTV. If CNET or anyone here can answer that it would be greatly appreciated.

I am a current employee at Circuit City! Yes, your protection plans will be honored if there ever was a complete shut down. They are ran third party by Assurant. Assurant is a Fortune 500 company. Thanks for being a loyal customer now and in the future. Saint Louis District employee Dave S.

A brand new CC opened up near my house less than 30 days ago...after not receiving any help from a Best Buy worker, Saturday morning, I decided to stop in CC for the 1st time. I was immediately greeted by a floor salesperson who was carrying a small Fujitsu tablet. I told him I was looking for Guitar Hero World Tour Combo for Wii...He checked stock using the tablet. Said he didn't have it in stock but was available at another location. "We can ship it to you at no extra charge", he said. He also asked if it was for a Christmas gift. I said yes. He further suggested if I had one, another shipping address, because he did not know if the GH would be packaged inside another box or shipped in the GH box. Could spoil the surprise if my kids saw the package.... Total transaction time under 15 minutes. I should have the GH in house by end of the week. I then stopped by the Verizon area within the store. I have an appt on Friday to purchase the BB Storm. I'm glad I stopped by CC on Saturday.

Has anyone heard if CC will be honoring gift cards/Merchandise credits? I have a card with a few hundred bucks that I have had for years from a return. I don't want to get stuck with it.

Thanks.

So,,, I went into CCity in Dec of 2008. Purchased a audio system for my daughter for Christmas and paid to have it installed. F Dog completed the job, I got in the truck and all the lights went out and fuses blew. They worked on it for another hour and my help and we seemed to get things working after smelling hot wires. A few days later it all happened again, went back in and demanded that they re-wire and replace the unit and start all over. They did, they closed and now the truck is messed up. Radio doesn't work, fuses blow and It can't be driven after dark. I've tried everything I know to contact someone to be able to get warentee work done.
Does anyone know how to find these crooks, C City, F Dog, etc.
Any advice???
