- With Seagate's FDE Dell does NOT have access to the drive unlock feature. This is what makes the management software paramount for recovery and auditinng compliance purposes. Wave makes central management software, Embassy Remote Administration Server, that allows for escrow of recovery password and fits into most help desk profiles if user loses password. Only the adminstrator or help desk can reset the drive. The end user/local adm. cannot disable this function.
