I'm still looking for a nice cheap laptop/netbook. Both of these along with Dell's Inspiron 9 look very affordable, but I'm sure the prices will come back down in the spring.

I hope the Acer laptop has better hinges than the one purchased by the local school for the teachers - after a year, the displays wouldn't stay up unless there was a stack of books propping them up.

Like they say - you get what you pay for.

i never knew graphics could be "discreet." does that mean my graphics are too bold and daring? :P

Ha. That error has been corrected, though I would argue that many discrete graphics solutions on laptops are modest.

Anyone know anything about the toshiba that is on sale @ Best Buy for 499.00 as well. It has a larger HD and more RAM, but has the AMD chip. Is it as reliable as the Acer?
