Let the debate begin: Was the iPhone more important than iTunes? Was anything bigger than Google finding a great business model? CNET offers its list of the 10 most important stories of the '00s.
I wonder if it would be at all cost-effective for Sony (and/or Nintendo) to offer a trade-up/recycling program. For a reasonable fee, I could trade in my PSP-2000 for a -3000. I'd imagine that at least some of the components could be recycled, and it would provide an extra stream of income from otherwise-content PSP owners. Sure, Sony wouldn't make as -much- off of current owners who can't live without the upgrade, but I'd wager that the majority of owners wouldn't normally buy another system -just- for a built-in mic and better screen. The move would probably be good PR, as well.
If Sony could settle for some low-er- profits on the systems, everyone wins.
