Yet another reason (IMHO) why cable with a HD Tivo is better. Tivo allows you to record HD video and copy it to your computer for playback or editing. In addition, you can take virtually any form of video from your computer and copy it back to the Tivo for playback on a HDTV. If DirecTV would allow the same features, then this product would be meaningless. And a possible delay until 2011? Who knows what you will be able to do with Tivo by then.

Yea love my networked Tivo for going back and forth from computer to tivo box. Just wish going to the computer it would stream. Going from computer to tivo TV can watch while recording as long as you got good network bandwidth and give the Tivo box a head start. Tivo to computer though gotta wait till it's finished copying :(.

Seriously T.V., Tivo, What?!? My Computer has been an integral part of my system for years and that was great until I switched to Direct Tv now I have a new box (cable Box... Hate it) I liked it when It was just my computer W/HDMI out and optical sound, my amp, my HD projector and my speakers soon I might swap my DVD burner with a blue ray burner YAY HD. Everything would have been both discrete and on one remote or my Denovo (love it) Bluetooth keyboard. But no farking direct tv has no option to let me avoid a box. I want a card (with recording and slingbox ability) slip it in next to my video cards and rock no more boxes! Who wants to live in a radio shack. Well, except for everyone who will read this post.

That's all great but the conflict of watching while others are home watching has been driving me crazy so I started use http://parkmytv.com - I sent them my place-shifting device and they take care of reboots and eliminate conflicts and have rocking bandwidth access vs. my home dsl which sucks the big one...

First of all it's Windows Media Center TV Pack and not Windows Center TV pack. Then you throw Slingbox and ATI's All-in-Wonder PCI cards around in the same sentence? How much research did you do for this post? 5 minutes? Today one can record HD in Windows Media Center w/o the TV Pack with a HDHomeRun if you are happy with only the channels that your cable provider doesn't encrypt or with a OEM CableCARD ready PC like a Dell XPS 420, which ships with ATI TV Wonder Digital Cable Tuner(s) and a CableCARD inserted to record the encrypted channels. BTW, the ATI TV Wonder Digital Cable Tuner connects via USB and not through the PCI bus. With the TV Pack, Windows Media Center gets native ClearQAM support so you can use other ClearQAM tuners besides the HDHomeRun. How the Slingbox has anything to do with this is a mystery. The HDPC-20 is meant to enable Windows Media Center to do with DirecTV, what these systems can do with cable or over-the-air today.
