I must have missed something. This retrieves the key that you entered for the game. If no key has been entered, then no key can be retrieved. And even after entering your code, how would you "cheat the installers" by retrieving your own key?

I was thinking the same thing. It's not like each game has only ONE corresponding key.. there's thousands...

Wow. Rich and his crew were just worried about the possibility that the software would allow them to retrieve a key from the software before it had been entered properly. For example, if the software could identify a key for Crysis before the author had inputed the value, then that would be piracy. That's all they're saying.
