Comments on: Forget Seinfeld, Microsoft, you want the two Coreys

Crave asked readers who would be a better spokesman for the Redmondians. Their suggestions range from the insightful to, well, the just plain cruel.

I think the ultimate spokesperson for Microsoft would be Darth Vader.

I heard from another source that filming started yesterday. A friend who lives in the Olympic Manor Area, North of Ballard and near Seattle/Redmond mentioned that a location scout stopped by and asked to sign a release for their house to be in some sort of a software commercial.

The street filled up this week with trucks, catering vans, tents, cables and a film crew. Anyone out there have any inside information, or paparazzi shots of the scene?

Any crime fighting superhero will do, Microsoft is fighting the evil Apple empire's attempt to control music, video, hardware and software.

Superman vs. Steve Jobs, er Lex Luthor

Yeah man! This former Microsoft bigot changed when Vista bombed its way into my life. Was fiddling around with Linux since 1996, but got serious and converted every desktop, laptop and 75% of my home servers to either Ubuntu or SUSE Linux. My other 25% of servers are Solaris.

I despise Apple with every DNA molecule in my body, and I think Microsoft is just getting dumber every month.

The OBVIOUS choice would be VINCE VAUGHN. This could take on a whole "Dodgeball" theme, after all, Vince's character, "Peter Le'Fleur" was the head of "Average Joe's Gym"... A place for "the rest of us" to do what we do & feel better about ourselves, (while in the end , winning millions of dollars!) While Justin "I'm a Mac" Long was always the scrawny weakling who alway looked up to Peter, and longed to be as good as him. Very similar parallel to the Mac/PC fight. Plus it'd be hilarious to see Justin say "Hi, I'm a Mac" and then get pummelled with a hundred dodgeballs. And then have Vince "P.C. LeFleur" hit him one more time and say, "You had your chance to be on the winning team, you lose, pal". Word, Cotton! Microsoft Word!

Wait...I thought he picked the two Coreys because of their role in "Weekend At Bernie's" ... a movie about two kids trying to prop up a dead guy and make him seem live...kind of what they'd have to do to Vista...

The two Coreys weren't in "Weekend at Bernie's"...

pjhenry,
They were in the evil Steve Jobs version which he forced on iTunes and AppleTV idiot users.

Yeah, you're right. Maybe Andrew McCarthy and Jonathan Silverman should be the new Microsoft spokesmen.

Vista just needs to get over the false rumors that its a bad system. So many people think its terrible and most of them either only used it when it actually was OR are just parroting stories they heard. Or worse, they're listening to Mac commercials. I'd say Vista is just as stable as Leopard. Its like Toyota over a Honda. They both have advantages and disadvantages, but it just comes down to honest opinion about which one is better. A Mac isn't someone holy experience to use. Its different, but I wouldn't say it has anything inherently better or worse (except the home key doesn't actually go to the beginning of a text line NOR does maximize actually maximize a window... those two things I noticed immediately when I went to use a mac at my friend's house).

Mac Mac Mac Mac,Mac users, your just so arrogant. It's a computer, an operating system. Not a degree, not a ground breaking novel, it's not going to change the world (for the better). It's an operating system. Get over yourselves please, owning a mac doesn't suddenly make you James Dean.

Jerry Seinfeld sounds okay - but I imagine they would sell a lot more Microsoft Vista and related products if they got Rush Limbaugh doing the pitch, and Jerome Corsi to write the copy.

Fortunately, someone at Microsoft must have some taste.

The type of people this advertising is probably aimed straight at the losers who listen to Rush or O'Reilly.

Microsoft shouldn't advertise at all. The whole world will always know what they are doing so save those millions and let's get Windows 7 right.

But they need grab every penny for Vista before they have to start trashing it.

Hardly the funniest man on the planet (paid advertising), Seinfeld's humor may be the only thing serious about MicroSoft's hilariously pathetic operating system.

No, no, no... I can see the resemblance of the Borg... a sleepy little nice operating system that suddenly turns into an instant blue screen until the hive of Windows Updates assimilate it into your hard ware...

I can see that....

But the true Microsoft spokesperson HAS to be Kirstie Alley....

Think "Cheers 1982"... the original cast member Shelley Long (we will compare her to IBM and "original" computing...) was beautiful, witty, fun to be around....
http://lancemannion.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/cheers_shelley.jpg there she is, with that playful, witty, cute as hell look on her face, you wished she could be your girlfriend, we are wanted to get her in the sack because we knew she waouldn't back stab us... she was the original IBM......

THEN.....

Along about 1987 (no kidding) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0083399/ our pretty Shelley got replaced by the repugnant and ****** Kirstie Alley. In comes Windows.... a seemingly "better" replacement than what we had become accustomed to for the last few years... Windows makes lot's of promises of being funny and fun to be around, but was a complete blue-screening *****... Just like Kirstie Alley... she has never played any role that I have ever seen her in where she WASN'T a *****....

Flash forward to 2008 and Windows Vista... and have you seen Kirstie's figure lately?... she is the perfect match for overly-bloated software... she must now weigh 300 pounds... and she is JUST AS BLOATED as the new Windows Vista operating system... it takes HOW MANY gigs of hard drive space to install on your computer ???? Damn, Windows weighs 300 pounds... just like Kirstie Alley....

Here are the pics to prove it...

Kirstie then and now:

http://data1.blog.de/blog/d/daridan/img/Kirstie_Alley_beforeafter.jpg

http://faktorial.com/images/kirstiefat.jpg

Yes, indeed... hands down, I have figured out the best spokesperson for the new over-bloated Windows Vista operating system... Kirstie Alley 2008... and 302 pounds..... what started out in 1987 as a beautiful idea, howbeit a ***** in disguise... has now developed into a bloated fat hog of a *****... Windows and Kirstie Alley match perfectly..........

LOL !!!!!

Jerry Seinfeld was cool and the guy about 15 years ago. I bet most young people now don't even know who he is. They still think the music of today is new and fresh even though they copied songs from 25 years ago and did remakes.

the two 'coreys' is the most pathetic show that was ever aired. two over-entitled morons with zero talent between them, doing a faux-drama with 'recovery kitsch' the one with the porno wife is the ugliest pig on the farm...her husband is a talentless dweeb with an overbearing ego that belies his lack of talent and success. the other corey is just as pathetic but not as smarmy...worst show ever. worst and ugliest three people ever...what a trainwreck...no real career for these two losers and the porno wife...this is what growing up in hollywood does to people? or were they always pathetic losers with zero talent and huge egos....what a friggin waste of airtime and the air that goes into their lungs....terrible...horrible...tasteless...ugly.

How could you people be so blind! All Microsoft needs is to get Patrick Stewart, parade him out in a commercial, and have him say "make it so" while pointing at Vista or clicking on something. Pure gold!

In all seriousness, I don't see a problem with Seinfeld. However, the amount of criticism and skepticism coming from the announcement of Gates and Seinfeld seriously highlights the major problems Microsoft has had making Vista and the PC hip and cool. Microsoft, are you taking notes for Windows 7 and not losing them? Looks like they lost a few of those notes already.

two coreys and the porno wife are the ugliest, least talented egocentric pigs ever on tv...still milking a bad film from twenty or more years ago....the very worst ego slime that hollywood ever gave birth to....just horrifying...the porno chick is ugly and vacuous, as most porno chicks are...the 'sober' corey is a waste of space and good air. what a vicious ego...and what a smarmy little snot...watching him grow up one could always see what an ass he was....the non sober corey is simply pathetic...the allegedly 'sober' one is even worse...what a gelding...what a humongous loser.
the movie they made twenty years ago sucked too...which is why neither of them is in the re-make....wasted doofs...no talent...no class...brimming with ego so thick it slimes the set...of all the ***** in hollywood, these three are endemic of the very worst.
