There are still some crucial upgrades to do before I will buy a newer version, namely 1) more Ram, 2) better browser, 3) bigger cache, 4) ability to add more flash memory, 5) easy hookup of a hard drive or external flash memory, and 6) multi tasking, among others

The psp 3000 is good if you dont have one and want it for christmas, but if you want a psp now and can afford it,don't let a new screen and mic slow you down. also if you already have one, don't waste your time.

the funny thing is, i had an original psp. but sold it just cuz i got bored. then i decided to be smart this time and buy the 2000. this time it was stolen. so now im waiting for the 3000 which i will probably sell once the new 4000 or psp 2 comes out.

I own a PSP 2000 and I really enjoy it but i think the screen improvements and the mic are some nice additions that would cause me to upgrade or even pass my down to my son.

fool me once..............
actually I don't regret buying the 2000 when I already had the 1000. I do find that some of the enhancements are useful but as excited as I was to hook it up to the tv, I find I never do. (duh- it's meant to be a portable-and that's how I generally use it!). So I will pass on the 3000 and look forward to the PSP2--by the way Sony (and others) where are all those cool little PSP webcams I saw at CES but no one seems to sell?

ill wait, thanks. im sorry but sony has completely forgotten that consoles are made by their GAMES!!!! and for christs sake, there is almost nothing on the psp. i mean, 5 games maybe that i would care to play, and thats it. im threatening to buy a ds, with final fantasy 4 out, chrono trigger on the way, and zelda, im trying to figure why the hell not.

oh come on... can people stop asking for touch screen on PSP... The PSP doesn't need touch, its a fine gaming device as it is. I don't use my iphone as a portable gaming device. I wouldn't excactly play tekken on a touch screen.... a little messy... I played Quake on my iphone and it was crap really. The buttons were on the screen and totally blew the experience. My fingers were in the way at times and I had to move them to see the enemy properly. I'm not a big fan of having on screen buttons. And I must admit playing with an accelerometer can look a bit foolish while standing on the train making you look a right idiot. Leaning left to right to get the monkey moving... (not that it isn't fun) :)

I upgraded to the PSP-2000 because I wanted it to be lighter, thats it. The 3000 doesn't really cut it out for me. The glare is only a very slight irk for me at the moment as I rarely ever play my PSP out doors. I want to see in built memory models. I don't mind UMD as l actually like UMD movies. They're VERY sharp and clear. I always have a couple when I go on long trips overseas and interstate. But the PSP-3000 won't be appearing on my debit card...

I have a PSP 1000 (from launch week) its in near mint expect 3 slight scratches with only 2 dead pixels. i have no complaints with it so i'll wait till PSP2. Or if sony ever puts wireless G in a new PSP, since i use the psp wireless constantly

This minor upgrade should not make the PSP-3000 .More like PSP - 2500 or something like that. They should include dual analog sticks and better speakers too.Sony is really desperate to sell this products.

just another crappy upgrade, what the PSP needs is decent games and lots of them, til then I will be using my DSlite and my PSP will just be gathering dust.

I'm old school, so I remember way back in the day when an updated version of a game system meant *fewer* features. If memory serves correctly, Atari improved the 2600 by removing 2 controller ports and Sega improved the Genesis to remove stereo! I think it's great that Sony continues to make legitimate improvements to the PSP, even if only minor My only real concern is that I just bought a PSP 2000 and it seems too soon to release yet another new version. They should have included these features in the 2000 or wait a bit and add something extra to the 3000.
