Am not sure if any of the listed Headphones here would qualify well for a healthy workout at the gym. Can I request the CNET editors to do a test on headphones that will stand the challenges at the gym...sweat, treadmill noise etc.

What, no mention of the Zen Stone / Stone Plus in response to the first question? The players you mentioned are huge, except for the Clip and Shuffle. Also, I doubt that you'll notice the slightly lower audio quality when you're working out.

Your first question is in regards to the best gym player and you fault the Clip because it doesn't have color, photo capabilities and video support? What gym do you go to where all these things are important, and if they are important at the gym, then working out isn't exactly the number one priority!

I simply noted that the Clip didn't have the same features as two of the other players that he specifically mentioned that he was interested in (the Nano and the Zen V Plus). That's not to imply that any of those features are necessary for a fitness-friendly player.

I got confused too as to why you will put down the sansa clip, when the question started with an mp3 player for the gym. cnet itself raves about the sound of the sansa clip.

if you must have a color screen, you may upgrade to the sansa fuze. I have it for the gym. It is pretty good and I love the scroll wheel.

I was actually putting down the sound quality of the iPod Shuffle, not the Sansa Clip. The Sansa Clip has great sound quality and is my top choice for the gym--to quote me: "My favorite player for working out specifically is actually the SanDisk Sansa Clip"

My wife had an iPod Nano that she used for working out. It quit working one day, and she took it to the Genius at the Apple store. He told her it had water damage and it could be replaced for $100. She was surprised to find out that sweat is considered water damage at Apple. Bottom line - make sure your Nano is in some sort of protected sleeve to prevent sweat damage!
