Web sites launch all the time, but they also shut their doors. We highlight 15 that bit the dust this year.
Let the debate begin: Was the iPhone more important than iTunes? Was anything bigger than Google finding a great business model? CNET offers its list of the 10 most important stories of the '00s.
And, the Apple's claim that its crap is immune to hackers, viruses, and crashing are all abslolute fraudulent claims...look at the news - right now there is a DNS server crisis because of bugs in apple's so-called servers.
XPS M1730
Intel® Core? 2 Duo 2.4ghz
2GB DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz
160GB SATA Hard Drive (7200RPM)
Dell Wireless 1395 802.11g Mini Card
Apple - $1999
MacBook Pro
2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2GB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM - 2x1GB
200GB Serial ATA @ 5400 rpm
802.11n, Built-in Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, Built-in 10/100/1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet
At worst, they are comparable. You should do some shopping before you have more keyboard diarrhea.
your apple model the best you best describle is a 15" macbook pro where the dell has 17" monitor. i know this based on the seed of the cpu speed since NO 17" macbook pro uses any cpu with less then 2.5GHz
your Macbooks has a NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT grapghics card where the dell has NVIDIA®GeForce® 8700M GT graphics. so macbook is using older graphis and has a smaller screen. both macbooks use the same NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics but the 17" model has better speed and more GDDR3 memory then the 15" model.]
what can you get for more money on the higher end dell model M1730 for graphics NVIDIA®SLI?Dual GeForce®8700MGT.
Macbook pros use 802.11 N draft and Dell 802.11G whats so bad about 802.11N DRAFT is it may be incopable with 802.11N Final starndards.
harddrives the faster it spins the faster you can acces your data and the Macbooks hardrive is slower.
OS Macbook Pro has Leopard whats wrong with that is the more then the 200 "bug/flaws"
M1730 OS's yes you can get both Vists and XP on the dell but not for the same $1,999 but for $2,099
vistas problems when it came out about 23 "Bugs/flaws" yes there where more problems but that hardware based not the OS problem.
theres still more i could say but in tired of tying.

Is that the only reason? Well no, clearly some of the time you're looking at Apple outside a "refresh cycle" this or that part has become available, and Apple haven't adopted it - you're bound to be able to find a PC maker or two who have it, and look better value at that point in time. Of course, if we're talking about an Intel part, then often the Mac has that first anyway (part of the "special relationship").
Yes there is too much hype about Apple, yes this gets boring. But when the vast majority of computers run Windows anything different generates more "buzz".
The DNS server bug isn't specific to Apple, although they have taken their sweet time fixing it. I don't think anyone thinks Mac are immune to anything, but they do better than Windows (for whatever reason). It's probably no accident that Microsoft have taken a few things from Apple's playbook when it comes to Vista security. Yes I do expect Mac OS X will learn some lessons from Vista too.
Of course, Apple get most of their low level improvements from "open source" contributions (albeit not usually directly). Personally I think this is a better way to build products (my other computers a Sun Ultra24).
Seriously, I think you've been drinking the Kool-Aid too long, that Mac isn't the worthless, overpriced piece of junk you think it is. Sure, it's not the cheapest computer in the lot, sure the hype is often out of control, and sure even Mac users need to think about security. But:
Mac isn't overpriced. Compare like with like, and you'll find Apple to be price competitive (on any given day it might be cheaper than a Dell or HP or it might cost a little more - I'm not saying it's always cheaper)
Mac isn't the security nightmare Windows is. I'm not saying it's a panacea either.
Mac users don't all have two heads or drag their knuckles. Some of them do, but from where I sit Windows user are at least as bad. (Why do they get so touchy when they learn you don't use Windows 100% of the time?)
Lastly, and maybe this doesn't apply to you - PCs get very expensive when you start building out your network, the CALs add up really quickly. So if you're talking about 10+ machines and a server you can forget my rather coy caveat about "not always cheaper" - Mac is always cheaper. You want to do better you'd better think outside Microsoft's box.
You know ******* well our sources are the same. Also, you are splitting hairs with the differences. You will find similar difference all across the PC world. Those differences are not Mac exclusive. I use PC's 95% of the time and I do prefer XP to OSX, but it has nothing to do with this so called "overpricing" that apple does. OSX works for some people, many of which are extremely right brain thinkers. I am extremely left brained, but I still see the advantages of the Mac.
Maybe it is?
I believe you were trying to spell, "trying." My MacBook checks for such spelling errors before I post.
Also, Firefox wouldn't even pick that up because tying was spelled correctly. That would be more of a grammatical issue.
As for the redesign, I'm not sure if I dig the aluminum. I don't get why Apple thinks they have to make everything look futuristic. I liked the black and white finishes of the current MacBooks.
"Tying" is an actual, correctly-spelled word. My PC offers alternative words as I type if something doesn't make sense.
*Oddly though, the iPhone 3G is plastic.
The Apple logo is not off centered. A piece of the protective covering is covering the left edge.
Anyway, I hope the new MacBook comes out soon. Screw the other rumors (iPods & useless sub-notebooks). Apple was a computer company before anything else so they should continue focusing on their computers (which age faster anyways). Plus, anyone who ever wanted an iPod, has one already. Although iPods make Apple money more than anything else and we love them, iPod updates shouldn't be the priority.
