He is the public figure of MI6, there has been no security breach. The information on the Facebook account could be of easily obtained by an adversary following him home.

You're right. This is a very public position, so he is presumably not out in the field undercover. While obviously not the best idea to post on Facebook, it just takes some time for a family to adjust to new privacy and security concerns with new celebrity.

You know what would really have been a story in this day and age? If whoever first discovered this had discretely informed her of the problem instead of spreading it around.

She wasn't sending any message on purpose to inform the world the English were affraid of nothing, this woman is dumb. I'm no Sir anything but the woman I'm married to isn't this stupid. I mean even if her old man wasn't head of M16 she still revealed a lot of personal info about her family. If I were her old man I'd take away her computer .

I agree with typeA911. Come on people. She basically risked the lives of every single person she loved.

Any woman who posts personal information on MySpace, Facebook, etc. that can help anyone locate them is putting themselves at risk. I had a girlffriend who made public where she worked, where she went to school, that she lived alone, etc. She said it was so people she used to know could find her. She couldn't understand why I was concerned that the WRONG people could find her, follow her home, etc.

This is why James Bond Agent 007 never got married. :)

His wife would post about him on her Facebook page.

Yes he did. Bond married the daughter of a Greek smuggler. As they drove away from the wedding, she was shot by Blowfeld. Short marriage, but a marriage all the same.

Since I'm in the safety and security business with my web site, I couldn't help but read this article. Thanks, Chris, for this humorous take on a sticky English security situation.

She did this before he got the job, the error was in not promptly erasing it, I suspect it wasn't top of her priority list...

So you think, his Job before that was Garbage Truck driver, Waiter, or possible Mail-man? ;-)

And if he is not making the actually Spy work (aka Bond), he still is vulnerable like you do this for us or we do that to your Family. She must have an IQ <90, People will make Spy Jokes for a while about him and her, or need to resign. And go back to his Waiter job LOL
