Comments on: Microsoft chucks vomit ad

The rather colorful ad--in which a wife pukes after seeing what her husband has been viewing online--has been removed from the Microsoft IE 8 "Browse Better'' campaign.

As a Mac user, I thought it was common for Microsoft Windows made you Ralph.

Next your going to tell me that North Korea is wrong, touching paper that comes from the South Koreans will NOT make my hands rot off?

???

Actually, this ad was inspired by one of Microsoft's "Laptop Shoppers" ads that was never shown--for obvious reasons. In that ad, the "shopper" had exactly the same reaction when shown a PC after trying a Mac.

I never saw the ad, but I don't really care for vomit comedy in the first place so it's no loss.

I'm not sure it's a good idea to lower yourself to that level of humor to sell computers.

So you never watched Team America: World Police?

This ad is also being blocked by IE browsers. I can get it on my Safari, Opera and Firefox browsers on my Mac. My wife cannot get it on her IE browser on her laptop. Hmmm...

Sounds like you have a personal problem because I just watched it in IE. Next time try to be informed rather than opinionated.

B&M are the same ad-tards who gave us the lying duplicitous "Mojave Experiment" ads. They imagine that a wife finding out that her husband has been visiting some sort of disgusting porn site and puking represents being "hip". Of course Microsoft would choose THIS agency.

Here's an even better ad they could have done: the governor of a southern state lets HIS wife borrow his laptop, only to discover his planned trip to a South American country to visit his mistress. Instead of Dean Cain, Another former governor comes on, telling viewers that sexual indiscretions can be more easily covered up with IE8. "If only I'd had this before visiting that prostitute!"

Yet even more FUD! Automatic updates does not require the browser.

The point of the ad is to show how bad IE is. So bad that it makes people have the same effects as in the video. Most of us knew this already but thanks for the warning MS.

Throwing up is not funny. Porn is not funny. Porn from your husband is not funny. It is all pathetic.

No porn isn't really supposed to be funny, sometimes they try, but I guess as you know...doesn't really work. I wouldn't say really throwing up is funny...it usually smells; however, throwing up on TV...could be humorous. Unfortuanately this ad is only good for being made fun of...

seems like this hits a sore spot or your disgusted by everyone who disagrees and thinks this is funny.

Wow, are you serious!??!!?? Haha, I laugh. In a bad way. This is disgusting lmao!! And the worst part, that it tells you to GET Internet Explorer. I thought she was puking because the guy was USING Internet Explorer and the ad would say Get Firefox!! But nooo, definitely not what I thought. BTW I would not expect this to be aired on Television. Its just wrong.

Microsoft fired the wrong people. Any manager that would sign off on this AD is a Fool, Moron and Idiot. In my opinion.

Nice commercial lol, but thank you MS. I'll stick with Firefox Private Browsing. It's too many exploits for IE which makes surfing not really safe.

Now that's funny :P
It's almost something you'd expect. They're just trying so hard to get attention that they forget they're a massive company unable to call something so disgusting (despite its hilarity) their own. They have to keep their IMAGE. Sure, the ad probably would be pretty successful, or at the very least it'd bring attention, but Microsoft has to keep itself nice and clean for the world to see. Any large company would do the same (yeah, Apple too, gasp!). These kinds of ads, despite their potential, must be left to those smaller guys who can still make their image anything they want it to be.
