Comments on: iLike? No, I don't

If someone wants to share a playlist with you, why should you have to be subjected to a barrage of things you have no interest in?

Chris, You hit the nail on the head.
What a waste of time, that FB is, I signed up once a long time ago on the advice of a friend. It took me three days to dump that trash off my list.
Like don't people have enough things to do in life.

It had a point.

You may disagree with the point, but at least say that.

ROTFL.... here's hoping I'm not the only one around here old enough to have gotten the 70's sailor-song reference immediately.

And now it's stuck in my head, you bastard... :/

I am SO very sorry, Penguinsto.

But every since I wrote it down, I have been suffering just like you. Even in the middle of the night when I got up to pee.

AND THE SAILORS SAY BRANDEEE, YOU'RE FINE GIRL, WHAT A GOOD WIFE YOU WOULD BE ....

Aaggh.

Have a great Thanksgiving.

ROTFL(again)! - Happy Thanksgiving to you too, Chris...

(who is currently holding the fort down since the rest of the IT dep't decided to go on holiday, business travel, and suchlike. This means I get to cure my mental musical daemon by hitting some streaming radio...).

Is it strange I got the reference despite being under thirty?
I need to stop listening to my old AM Gold cassettes...

It is not strange. You are not strange. These things merely have a strange way of penetrating our crania and sticking there.

Like lice. Or news about Amy Winehouse.

It doesn't matter how old you are, this stuff will get you.

Happy Thanksgiving.

For the record, Modest Mouse are great live and Moon and Antarctica/Lonesome Crowded West are a couple of the best albums in the last 10-15 years. I agree with most everything else you said, though.

See, plasticities,

I like Modest Mouse recorded. I just thought they were really lame live. They were totally outperformed by the National that night.

Such is life...

Have a great Thanksgiving.

Seems like there are a ton of Facebook apps that are about as useful as a beaker full of squid intestines. The ones I really hate are where they have you take some sort of quiz or some other survey...only before you can see your results, you have to send the survey to 10 people. And you can't skip this step. Yeah, OK. *DELETE*. :-)

I like Facebook a lot. I think that I have a good experience because I don't use ANY apps at all. I don't play any games. I just update my status, post/look at pics, and read/comment on other people's writing.

Amazing... a journalist who's not an Apple fanboy, at least not enough to endorse crud like 'iLike'.

Further, thank you for not fulling engaging in fanboy speak while writing this article, making the rest of us (the vast majority) not read it at all.

ya, the thing that came to mind was iLife... clearly there is a similarity there in name (if not purpose), but there doesn't seem enough to like about iLike
by selenalove43 November 28, 2008 1:26 AM PST
It's not strange. Obviously life should come in mind. everytghing is for life an dlife is journey.

you should try slacker.com for music. you can create your own station with bands you like, send the station to someone and there you go. it has to be the best legal way to send a mixed tape like music selection of bands you like to people. the free service is great. the paid service is better ( i presume) but who wants to pay. tell brandy to make a station and send it to you. it will stop you from writing a story like this. if you have never tried slacker you should. with the upcoming blackberry application this is the way to listen to music, unless you like spending time organizing all that music you downloaded.
