The sound quality in HD Radio can differ per radio station (and reception, obviously). It is generally better than standard radio, but in most cases is not as clear as CD quality. Simple stated, this is not generally considered "High Definition" audio, and the name "HD Radio" is misleading.
This seems to be a very little-known fact. The term "HD" is so commonplace in video now, that it generally passes unquestioned that HD Radio is not actually "HD". I'd love to see an article about this, actually.
