I don't like the fact that Vista has some compatibility issues with old hardware and software the same way the Mac OS has compatibility issues with old hardware and software.
The biggest problem with Vista was the bad press early in its development. The worse problem with Vista was that Microsoft did nothing to clear out what was happening at the press room; until now. Is it too late? As a Mac user at home I feel that Microsoft did a fine job with Vista SP1, and I feel that Apple should follow too when Snow Leopard is shipped.

I have only booted to Vista a handful of times.. mainly due to initial hardware/software incompatabilities that were probably addressed around the time of SP1.
The initial problems did stop me from upgrading, but I may try again soon.. maybe before Windows 7 is out. Maybe this advertising offensive will work on me.. I hope so.
By the way i don't use OSX.. and never have found a use for it. I find the Apple hardware pretencious and expensive. I have loved seeing the mac clones coming along and think it would be a great move for Apple to open up the operating system to other vendors. When Apple have to support thousands of different pieces of hardware as Microsoft do, I am sure their bug list would be as big, if not larger than in Windows.
After all, what would you prefer? A monopoly on OS's (Microsoft) or a monopoly on hardware and software (mac)?.. I think competition in both areas would be great and may lead to both Apple and MS lowering prices and creating better quality, more versitile OS's.
Here is a basic rule of the universe: If advertising works on you then you are an idiot. You you hope that advertising works on you then you are a complete idiot.
How about hoping that MS fixing the thousands of problems in Vista instead of hoping that some ad convinces you it has?
A monopoly of hardware? Since when is using off the shelf parts a monopoly?
I do not use Vista, at least not at home. I used it at an old job. I was wondering how long it would take MS to fight back at Apple. The characterizations made by Apple have been in my opinion grossly overstated. In fact, in my opinion, Vista and Leopard shared the same kind of early hiccups. The difference is Apple was much much quicker in fixing them. MS seems to have little interest in fixing anything. They'd rather put fixes in the next version to make you upgrade. You'd think they'd learn from their IE experience, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Does anyone still use IE?
scamming their customers. They don't have the ethics to understand this is fraud
and a crime...
First: Microsoft set this up. Microsoft bought the computers. Microsoft DID NOT install any other software. Also, a 2GHz processor is not old, is expensive, and 2GB of RAM is much more than required for XP.
Second: They're only letting them use the computer for 10 minutes. If they would let them use the computer for a few months, they'd be coming back to Microsoft with countless problems, incompatabilities, bluescreens, slow-downs, etc.
Third: Ask ANYONE who is NOT a Microsoft Windows Vista dealer what they think of it. That's when the truth comes out! The bottom line is Microsoft made a HUGE MISTAKE with Windows Vista, and the only thing they can do to make it look good is show people it's first 10 minutes. LAME! If Windows Vista was good, people who are not Windows Vista representatives would be telling you how good it is. As for Microsoft, TRASH VISTA, and go back to XP!

- I have not been in the computer game for very long, but from the beginning,I never understood the purpose of the microsoft bashing that became glaringly obvious rather quickly. It seems to be the same arguements that you hear between GM and FORD fans,ie:my system is better than yours.Bla,Bla,Bla.Spend your money how you want, use the system that you want, and be happy that you have a system in the first place.Grow up, and quit arguing.!
