- I'm not fanboy one way or the other. I've used both and think each platform has it's uses. I've used a Thinkpad T60 for 3 years for business with Office 2008, and about 4 months ago switched to the latest MacBook Pro with Office 2008.

Showing 2 of 2 pages (29 Comments)The core apps are pretty much identical in functionality. I personally can't stand the new button bar ribbon approach across the top in the PC version. The Mac version doesn't use it and I find it a bit easier to find the functions needed. The Mac versions are noticeably slower, but still very usable.
The one app that's the exception is Mac version's Entourage, which is supposed to be the PC's Outlook equivalent. It's not. It sucks ass in a big way. It's so bad that I run Parallels on the Mac just to run Outlook.
Entourage can't read Outlook's PST files, which makes it very difficult difficult for a PC business user to move to a Mac platform unless you don't want to search for archived email. You can't book a resource (i.e. meeting room) when creating a meeting. For some reason, when VPN'ed in from home, it can't connect. And it won't recognize meetings created on a Blackberry. Or yes, and RIM doesn't support Entourage, only Outlook.
Like I said, Entourage sucks ass. The others apps are good. But, seeing as your groupware app is the major one for business, it's a hard sell.
