Once again we are on the Microsoft roundabout. Promising the next big thing in search or the next big thing in computing. Meanwhile, their competitors deliver the goods without the hype. People use Google for a reason, it delivers. Microsoft promises to deliver and simply continues to fail.

This search algorithm really is worth multi-billion dollars. Search seems to be the only thing that google does right. And everything is build around search.

with live's 'contextual search' comes 'contextual advertising' - what a great idea. its always exciting to hear about what the great people at MS come up with next.

It feels to me like too little too late. Search is done with. Nobody's talking about search anymore. Not even Google. Now-adays people are talking about rich internet applications (RIA), social networking, cloud storage/computing and stuff like that. This is yet another example of how Microsoft is late to the game. Just as always, they'll likely end up making a series of acquisitions to catch up.

I'll search with whatever's more convenient, has the best results, fastest, and has less BS (advertising, etc...). Whether that's Google, Yahoo, or MS- it doesn't matter to me.

If MS can top Google's search, I'll be more than happy to switch my homepage. More than likely, they'll have too many partners taking up real-estate on the page, too many widgets, and too many ads. And, thus, will fail. But you never know- maybe they'll get it right.

Raw photos are a hassle compared to JPEG. But if you like photography, the list of their image quality advantages is long and getting longer.
