So far the 'free' upgrade program from microsoft is nothing more than a scam, to trick you into buying a computer with Vista now to clear the shelves. I just bought a new Gateway system with 64 bit version of Vista Premium, and their website claims it doesn't qualify. It's a bait and switch tactic, as nowhere do they tell you which models qualify, and you are required to enter in the serial number before you find out. My guess, is none of their computers qualify. If you call their support line, you just get someone in India who can't understand anything but telling you how to go to the acer website.

Useless. If someone from Microsoft is reading...you really need to get your promotion fixed before it backfires on you. I know I'm not the only one with this problem, and may be returning my new machine for a mac.
