It will be interesting if this big giant can get back to where it once was. But it certainly is on the right track with Windows 7, Bing search and some very good Live Essentials programs. I have been playing with many of them and many of them show a refinement that has been missing from Microsoft products for a few years now. One thing is for certain, that Microsoft intends to make a comeback and is putting both feet forward to do it.

Why not just intertwine the live with the MSN homepage? Have the news and such for your local area displayed, but provide an area to login to live. Once logged in, your personal live info such as emails and your friends updates will then be displayed along with the msn page.

I have been a die-hard MSN user for years, until two days ago when I finally got tired of sorting through the ads ,shopping links ,entertainment and gossip columns for relevant content. I switched to iGoogle, and within 3 minutes it was personalized to show current weather for my region, local and national news, sports and tech news. I can even change the UI appearance.

Granted, MSN has a My MSN personalization option, but there are still those ads...which take forever to load! Also, If you are male, you will note that the default MSN home page is mainly geared towards women! No offense ladies, but I don't want to buy Avon, see "deals" on shoes, know how to keep a man ( yuck! ), read the latest gossip, or know the hottest looks for the "fashion season".

MSN needs a MAJOR overhaul...in the mean time, I will stick with iGoogle and probably test drive their Chrome browser as well...

Revamping is not what MSN needs! Dynamite is, blow up the entire thing and start from scratch. I have NEVER gotten any help from their supposed "Techs" and their rudeness to PAYING customers (yes, I was stupid enough to pay) is totally unsurpassed.

I used to do support for MS Exchange and Hotmail was a tremendous help in getting repair hotfixes to clients. Up until very recently I used Hotmail as my primary personal mail system. However the geniusesat MSN were not content to have a good functioning product, they had to "improve" it . In the process they drove me away

. For the last six months I have not been able to print hotmail webpages. The final straw was that any emails that I saved onto my local hard drive could not be opened. When I clicked on them.

I was directed to default aspx no matter what they were saved as.

I set up an account on gmail and forwarded some emails from hotmail and they functioned as they should.

I have sent emails to MSN advising them of the problems but no response!

Well I suppose you get what you pay for.

I just moved everything to gmail ... cause it works.
