He means it's a big company that won't change overnight.

Silverlight? They still think it has legs? Ha. Forget it. HTML 5, CSS Animation, and other W3C standards are the future. Not proprietary nonsense like this. Flash is too entrenched on the media player front. It too will yield to open standards eventually. Silverlight is too late to the part where we can already see its end.

If you think "HTML 5, CSS Animation, and other W3C standards" are going to replace application development with Flash/Flex or Silverlight I've got a bridge to sell you

"Not proprietary nonsense like this." and then about flash... "It too will yield to open standards eventually."

In other words, proprietary software is great as long as it doesn't come from microsoft? You're just another ms hating troll.

Well I'm using IE8 after switching back from Chrome (trying to not use Google due to their left wing political advocacy), and I still have to admit, Chrome is way better.

Chrome spoiled me. IE8 seems like a big ugly mess (as does firefox). Maybe the final will be better (smaller/cleaner) but I don't see a design change of that size coming.

I thought the lack of privacy and hijacking of your intellectual property, or anything you view with their browser or apps was enough of a turn off. I didn't realize their left wing political slant was that skewed. I am definitely done with them and their "Big Brother"-ish nonsense.

@goodspeed8701 His Chrome preference appears to be a subjective one

@ goodspeed8701.

Chrome is the quickest browser to load, the quickest when changing tabs, and like Safari, you can make tabs their own window and drag them back into the main browser. It is also very fast at rendering web pages and AJAX stuff. The design allows more real estate and is simple and uncluttered compared to other browsers.

Also there is a incognito mode if you are worried about Google recording your movements.

I know when I use another browser they really do feel sluggish in comparison, even including Firefox which use to be my browser of choice.

If you don't want to look at the IE's use the "Full screen" feature. Path is: blue gear>arrow next to blue gear>toolbar>customize> find "Full screen">Add button> close.

Nothing causes me more grief then IE7 and IE8. I'm using the RC of IE8 and the released version of IE7. (OS is Windows Vista Business) I just hope the final release is better then the RC. The IE8 RC is far better then the Beta's of it by a long shot. My IP requires it use.
