Comments on: One big thing Zune did right

Microsoft may have catching up to do when it comes to digital music, but company deserves plaudits for making new features work with every Zune ever made.

as long as M$ doesn't release the Zune worldwide, the iPod will retain the market share & win the war of Zune vs iPod.

Thats all nice and all, and leaves me goosebumps on how loving Microsoft is caring about me, and some of my peers who also have Zunes, but what I really want is something that beats the iPod Touch and the app store, and actually having videos that I want to download, yeah?

No doubt Microsoft has made some mistakes with the Zune, especially...ahem...software-wise, but they understand that there is a following out there and they are staying loyal to them, so that they will stay loyal to the Zune. I really do not like the i-Pod at all...it's too restrictive in terms of format, looks like a kid's toy and sound quality isn't quite there.
Giving users free updates is great and they DID listen tot he users, people wanted a clock and games and a better way of accessing new music...I think they did that. They're not perfect and the rest will come in time. A completely new device will be required in the next two years, but you know what...I will be first in line to buy the new one.

The zune has very similar format restrictions.

Its nice to finally see some real comments when these two companies come up instead of the juvenile *** sucks, although there are still a few kids above. I have to say that this is the first time the Zune's have looked good as they do have some unique and cool features. Not bothered about the FM feature as I can't stand radio now but all the rest look good and the players have a nice look to them, perhaps not better but different and clean lines. That being said, they would have to come out with something at this point that just leaves Apple's system in the dust in order for me to consider switching and this is unlikely and clearly not the case currently. I have so much music in iTunes in Apple Lossless, AAC, old purchased iTunes music before I got annoyed with the bit rates. Not to mention the Apple TV I have hooked up to my LCD TV and optical out into my DAC then stereo system which sounds great and I love going through the library on my TV screen and have the music come out of my real stereo. Its not just the players themselves or even them combined with their respective software anymore, its a complete system and when it comes to that there is still a huge gap. I'm glad MS is innovating though as it keeps Apple doing likewise

Another thing you can do with zunes is load up custom apps and games. This is unknown to a good percentage of people. to find out more information about it and a step by step on how to do so check out my web site http://williamrmoore.net/zunegames.aspx

Its funny when cnet half gives Zune props, Apple fanboys lose their minds. Ipod is the only thing thats made Apple any real money. So Zune is a threat to them. I for one have tried both. Zune is a far better device for music. And even if cnet won't fully admit it, Other tech sites are coming around with this update.

First of all Microsoft is the second biggest in the MP3 market and the Zune base will only continue to grow. The Zune, compared to the iPod classic is way better and better looking. The Zune software has new features has never even thought of and continues to get better and it's integration is also just as seamless, with the Zune player. The article seems bias in its premise that there is only one big thing Microsoft has done right. Backwards compatibility is big but there are a number of others that make it a lot better than the ipod and even the itouch.
