Comments on: Olympics live: Cool, but with compromises

CNET News' Ina Fried doesn't mind staying up late to watch some live softball over the Internet. But the online commentary isn't quite synchronized with the action.

Really?

I thought the quality of the streaming video was crappy, and that was on a T1 connection. I'm using OTA digital receiver on my computer at home, and the quality is so good that I came to the opposite conclusion...that I'd rather watch (and record) HD content with all the sharpness of being able to see the zits on the athletes' faces, than to watch what I think is really bad video.

That and Silverlight seems to work with mixed results, sometimes freezing IE and frequently using a lot of resources.

I don't like how they have it working. The RSS feeds are not set up like a standard video feed and I cannot watch them on my PS3 like I was hoping. They have it set so you see a jpeg instead of posting the video directly. I was all excited to watch events on demand when I wanted to, but I hate watching things on my computer.

It has been a big let down.

Can't watch video's outside of the USA... come on, I live 10 minutes from the border in Canada, and watch 90% american TV. They couldn't make this abailable to Canada?
