@er0sionn Did you even read this post? It talks about actually teaching kids to play guitar. Clearly, a genius such as yourself should have been able to figure that out.

@dave, Wow, a kid that purchases a game to LEARN SOMETHING. This game will truly be popular with the young ones. The article even says, "Guitar Hero is likely causing a generation of kids to not learn to play real instruments. "
erosion is simply saying that kids do not buy games in order to learn something, they buy it to play it for their enjoyment.

Dave,
while this study by the Times is not conclusive, it does show that rhythm games like Guitar Hero and Rockband lead to interest in real musical instruments:

Personally, I have found the games helpful to develop a better sense of playing in time. But as a drummer, you're likely way ahead in that area.

Still, I would love to see the development of games that reinforce real guitar playing skills. Maybe Disney or Line6 or someone can figure that out.

dave, people only play guitar hero while drunk, and we all know drunk chicks (or dudes) are up for ANYTHING.
It will defnitely get you laid... as it helps bring the booze into everyone around.
