I need to upgrade a laptop HD. I was thinking of buying one of the transfer data kits with software to xfer everything (OS, programs, files). If I have this Paragon program, do I need to buy one of those xfer kits?

Looks very interesting. But I am concerned about how one would re-install this if they need to? I've already had to rebuild a laptop after sending it away for support.

by pigmond April 8, 2009 2:47 PM PDT: You install it -- when you create a backup, you're also backing up the application. When you reload your backup, you also reload the program.

There is an additional option to create a bootable DVD or thumb drive -- so you can restore directly from the media.; Like this


by Nychocolips April 9, 2009 9:38 AM PDT: After the ridiculous amount it took for me to patch my rebuilt system I decided to download this software. The installation and registration was pretty easy. I'm going to try to image this weekend (if not tonight) and then blow it away and try to restore it. I'd like to discover the issues BEFORE I have real emergency.

I've stored my registration information online so that I can easily find it no matter what system fails.; Like this

by bremori April 8, 2009 4:32 PM PDT: on install, when it asks for pr key and ser num, there is a line which sends you to input info name email the pr key and ser num will be in your email. couldn't cut and paste, from email, though, but was able to enter pr key and ser num manually. thanks rick and GOTD...; Like this Reply to this comment

Great deal........... except their password site went bonkers about 7 hours before the deal expired and one could not get the authorization keys to use the software. This is what is known as an empty promise if there ever was one!
