In Downtown Chicago we were EXCITED and PUMPED about this. I thought more people would take advantage of this deal but I am happy with those that stopped in. If you are in Downtown Chicago follow me on Twitter, you have a new friend in the pizza business!

Placed my order around 9:00am this morning for a 7:00pm pick up. Everything worked fine and I haven't received a phone call yet. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I just got back from lunch and my FREE PIZZA. It was delicious (or as delicious as a Dominos pizza can be). Thanks Rick, it worked great. Don't listen to the haters!

Ha, if the coupon is not working Dominos pizza is hardly worth getting worked up over. They should be paying you to eat that crap anyway.

Mine is due for pick up in about 40 minutes. They open at 11:30, and I selected a 12:15 pickup. So far no call, or email cancelling my order, BUT I doubt the Dominos that i placed with is getting a lot of these codes since it is in a small area. Mine is probably one of the only ones. I told my coworker about this, but by the time he tried to place his order it had been taken down. Hopefully, I'll get mine!

I didn't get to order this in time but am not sweating it. I still have mad love for your deals Rick. This is off topic but what do you guys expect from the new iphone in June? I'm hoping it's as slim as the my 2g ipod touch. Thoughts?

I promptly ordered my FREE medium size one topping pizza at 8:40 AM EDT in Williamsburg, VA for pickup at 11:30am. When I arrived, the manager had 8 other FREE pizza's waiting and asked me where I got the code from and I told him- "The Cheapskate at cnet.com". Apparently they (Domnio's locations) received an email from Corp to honor the coupons until they can get the situation under control. The manager told me as of 11:30 this morning, Domino's had given out around 11,000 FREE pizza's. He went on to say that Domino's had mailed out a hard coupon card that was suppose to be shown when picking up the pizza but he laughed and said that he hopes I enjoy it. At least I tipped them $3. Thanks Rick and Domino's, the pizza was GREAT!

I just got through eating about 3 slices. I went and picked mine up and was not given any hassle. Great deal, although I would have normally not ordered Dominos, I would have went to Round Table.

Just goes to show you, nothing disappoints people more than not getting free stuff. Especially when the free stuff is a delicious pizza.

The Lubbock store doesn't honor the coupon.

As a Domino's Pizza manager myself, I like some of the good comments here (The Philly Cheese Steak could actually battle heaven, I'll tell you what....) and I'll mention that at my store we did honor the coupon. It was the wildest thing to walk into work today and have nine timed orders for free mediums. I called who I would and was informed of the situation.

However, one thing I noticed was that no one ordered anything to go along with the free medium pizza. I know many of these customers were first-timers and it'd have been nice to show them some of our other great products out there as well.

Managerial speak aside, I hope those of you whom received a free pizza today loved it. If you didn't, I'd like to invite you to give Domino's another chance.

I haven't heard much about, and hope no employees upheld, rudeness with patrons redeeming their free pizzas today. I know I love Domino's Pizza and if there's a way to get it for free, that's even better! Besides, not many who ordered this were aware that it was not approved by Domino's Pizza as an active code, anyway.

My only unpleasant experience with this was one person on the phone who called about the "bailout" pizza and I said that was no longer available and he yelled and hung up. As a manager, you sometimes get much worse, but I think that it was all over the internet had a lot to do with the confusion and frustration some experienced once the code was deactivated.

Thanks for listening!

I have to comment to ktappe... Being in Domino's Pizza Corporate myself, I'm not sure how this would ever be a slap in the face to franchisees. ALL stores were hit with these coupons, even the corporate-owned ones. Domino's Pizza isn't split into corporate against franchise. We have our fun competition, but beyond that, we are all shooting for the same goals and we all want to produce the best products we can for our customers.

My order went through but was told canceled later.

I don't think it is fair to for Domino to pull the plug after collecting all my info, and many others'

Rick, I enjoy your findings, thanks for keeping us in the know!
I too ordered my pizza in Chester, VA during the 9 am hour yesterday and was able to use the code. Around 11 am, I also was called and told the coupon was not valid and I could pay regular price, which prompted me to cancel my order. After watching the posts on this site the rest of the day, I decided to call the store back on my way home. The manager had no clue what was going on (she did say she had just arrived) but did honor the deal with a print out of my order confirmation. So thanks to Domino's and Rick!

to ether_123-

I'm sorry that you had to put all of your information in and to expect an order only to be told later that it was canceled. If things with the computer system were as I'd like them to be, then you'd never have been told to expect your order to go through. (Not because I didn't want you to get it, but because the coupon was no longer valid). The workings of the online ordering system are beyond me, so I can't explain why you were told in the first place that your order was valid. If you could provide me with an order number, perhaps I could look into it further? I understand your concern of it not being fair, but it's impossible for Domino's to be able to distinguish and contact each and every online order that was placed after discontinuation was put into effect. We do all that we can to satisfy our patrons.

<So thanks to Domino's and Rick!>

Thank you, Busy_Bea! It's nice to hear that it's appreciated still. You're welcome and I hope it was delicious, as I'm confident it was. :)

To all the greedy, thankless 8@$t@rds out there:

Call your local dominos and thank them for the error in your favor. THEN TAKE THE MONEY THAT YOU WRONGFULLY SAVED AND DONATE IT TO A FOOD BANK.

To everyone else, please shut the 4311 up. Whiners.

"Domino's Pizza Inc. spokesman Tim McIntyre said Wednesday that the company prepared an Internet coupon for an ad campaign that was considered in December but not approved. He says someone apparently typed "bailout" into a Domino's promo code window and found it was good for a free medium pizza.Word about the code spread quickly Monday night on the Web and 11,000 free pizzas were delivered before it was deactivated Tuesday morning."
