I went to Open Office when I got a new computer with Vista and did not want to pay for all of those upgrade fees. It is not as blotted as Office and I do not need all of Office's features.

You are suppose to be a student or educator to take advantage of this deal. Rick seems to be encouraging people to rip MS off. Kind of like buying one song and stealing the rest of the album.

MS has a big bet going on with Office and it's mandatory ribbon UI. They realize that in a world of Google docs and Open Office and even WordPerfect they had better hustle it out to as many people as they can to get them to use it. Personally I think it sucks but I also hated the disappearing menu options in Office before that. What kind of improvement is that??? The funny thing is that if another developer produced a similar UI they couldn't get the golden "MS Windows" badge of approval. Funny huh?
