We just got the w2407h installed in all of the offices at school and I use a w2408h at home. They are pretty nice, but suffer from the poor viewing angles, especially from below, of all TN panels. Now, you might not think viewing from below is a big deal, but if you rotate the panel 90 degrees, then it becomes poor viewing from the left of the panel which might not work for you.

I went for it. The fact that I don't actually have to fill out a bloody rebate made the difference. Rick, I think I may have to boycott you until after the holidays. I'm going to be penniless at this rate.

Mind you... if you see a Panasonic Viera 800 for a great price... ;)

Which model? ;)

Rick if you find something on this I am going freak out.

I am looking for the Panasonic Viera TH-50PZ800U. So far the best price I've found is Amazon.com (proper, not marketplace). They have a decent price when you place it in the cart. I'm actually trying to find out how to dispose of my ginormous 53" rear projection in anticipation of getting that TV.

Thanks, Brother.

Well, these guys have it for $1,299, but I've never heard of the outfit...

Rick, great price. Wrong system. That would have been amazing. I did do some research on the company. I'm not sure because of how easily I can see companies skewering them. But I'll see if they get the 800 model.

Thanks.

I've been waiting for this to happen for so long. But I'll have to hold off until my birthday since we already did more than enough spending for Christmas.

I've been stalking the deal sites (Dealnews, boddit, fatwallet) for a long time for a deal like this. Finally pulled the trigger. I also used MS live Cashback and got another $2 back.

Ugh. You got me on this one, too. ...and I kinda sorta got laid off last month. I am an advanced amateur photographer and have needed a monitor that doesn't suck for a long time. I don't know that this one may not be the *best* choice for photography, but seriously, it has to be better than what I'm currently using.

I jumped at this one also. I have no real problems with my current Dell LCD but this is just too good to pass up!

Why am I even considering this?

...Where did this credit card come from?

Rick,

I am looking to buy a 22'' (or maybe now a 24'') LCD monitor in the near future. In your opinion, do you think it is better to grab a deal like this now or wait until the few days after Christmas when there will be plenty of sales?

just saw on newegg they have a 22 in acer for 159.99 after promo code EMCBCBCAB and a $20 rebate
by rickbroida December 12, 2008 8:57 AM PST
There's always a cheaper deal just around the corner. Unfortunately, that means you could end up waiting forever. I have a hard time imagining 22-inch monitors going below $139 (where they were a couple weeks ago), but I suspect it'll be a month or two before we see another 24-incher for below $199. Just my semi-educated guess, of course...

Personally, I'm surprised they're still in stock. But I'm glad so many of you were able to score one. Awfully tempted to do likewise.

Rick,

Unless I am overlooking something this is a heck of a find! I've been waiting for a monitor with these specs to fall into a decent price range for over a year. This would have been a good deal even if the monitor was 20 or 22 inches so there was no way I was passing this up.

Kudos, I check out your page on a daily basis and have been sorely tempted to take advantage of a few of the deals you've uncovered. This is the first that was completely irresistable...

I pulled the trigger also. I still got one even though I waited until this morning.

newegg has a 22'' Acer for $114.59, but it is open box (may have physical defects) and doesnt come with the power supply or anything. it comes with a 15-day refund only warranty.

Worth it? I'm currently looking to see how much a power cord would cost alone.

I missed out on this one but keep these (24 inchers) coming, my ole' 19" WS is suddenly way to small to play Far Cry2.

I got mine yesterday and set it up today. First, great googily-moogily, this thing is huge. I feel like I should be sitting across the room. Second, it is a little askew - not the image, the physical screen is a little tilted. I shimmed up the right side with a very thin paperback book and all is well. My other now-tiny-seeming monitor is off to my sister's house to live in her office.

Like horsenbuggy I needed to shim it slightly on the right side. Thanks for confirming that issue because I thought it was my imagination at first.

Otherwise..... OMG this is an incredible monitor!

Holy crap this is HUGE. I feel like I MUST put HD content on it and mount it to a wall. lol. I think I am going to dig out my DVI card I have in one of my old PCs and see what the difference is.

Cheers.
