It's funny how people consider the PS3 overpriced and then you have 16GB media players 300 dollars when you can get a 30GB player that's a little less fancy for 200 maybe less brand new. I guess consumers are kinda funny that way. I can think of a lot of things I'd like to spend nearly 300 on. I've never been an Apple fan but... Microsoft and their Zune/Vista incompatibility may just be the final straw to make me one.

Why are apple's prodcuts useable on Vista but Microsoft's Products have so much trouble?

Well the iPod Touch has a touch screeen, virtual keypad, accelerometer, mobile browser, app store/jailbreak apps etc. and the Zune has music sharing through it's Wifi (no internet browsing on the device). There isn't any other device in the iPod Touch's form factor that has as many features. It's flash storage based so that explains the price.

Zunes work fine with Vista.

Samsung P2 does most of what Touch does, but cheaper.

i think ill wait for the new ipods to come out, because that will surely bring price drops too. i mean if for some reason you need one NOW, then it wouldnt be terrible, but i'm just gonna wait.

@MakaiOokami :
It's funny isn't it. It's just like how we feel a $1.50 bottle of 591 mL pop from a vending machine is a decent price when one could go into a grocery store and get a 2 L for $0.99. It's a consumers' perceived value I guess. iPods and consoles are such different machines that we rarely consider comparing their prices when buying iPods. If we did, many things would seem expensive such as $400 netbooks.
