Someone will record it and upload it to youtube every month. That is if there is anything worth watching on it to begin with.

I think the first episode should be free so we can see if it is worth purchasing or subscribing to. It will probably end up on youtube.

really, how can you complain? I pay money a year
to read PSTOM! This is no different
except
u get live interviews and stuff you would never see
in a magazine
cuz its from Sony officially! This is actually
a really good idea and I look
forward to it! Oh and where else can u look behind the scenes that u don't have to pay for? Honestly ur making this seem bad when its not at all! And these episodes will be long, not some 2 min thing BS that microsoft gives for free! Besides thats 25 a year! Less than half of xbpx
live
for much more content!

Come on Sony, dispense with the crap services and bring out HOME already!! I have always been a fan of Sony and it's products but this service is likely to appeal only to the upper echelon of Sony fanboyism............

Let's face it Sony, with the current state of the economy nobody is looking to add to their already burdensome monthly expenses (especially if it means having to put up with "interactive" ads stuffed in their faces)

This will be free in 6 months. No way they'll get people to pay for a program...especially with ads!

Bad PR too.

for all the Sony haters, how is this any different than MS charging extra for stuff on XBL even after paying $50 for a years subscription? $450 for a 360, $50 for Halo 3, $50 for XBL oh and if my son wants the Halo 3 Legendary Map Pack that's $10? You mean the $550 MS already got from me wasn't enough?

You didn't know the games cost extra. You're kidding right? I thought Sony's service was free, and would always be. Just more Sony hype.
by brandonh33 June 4, 2008 8:15 AM PDT
Why is this a story? Sony is not trying to sell consoles with this of course, but the creators of games decided to have some fun and show people what they are doing in depth. I am sure it wont sell very much, but is it supposed to? Not really. They just need to get back the money it costs them to make this and make some extra money, not break any records or sell any consoles.

"its PS3 hasn't done nearly as well as it had hoped." Are you kidding me? If you have done any research and looked at any sales charts you would see that the ps3 is exactly where sony wants it. It is on track with the ps2 currently which was the best selling console ever, priced much lower. It is consistantly selling 50,000-100,000 units more than the 360 every week. I have no idea what you are talking about.

hee hee....sony is soo desperate/cash strapped that they are trying to make money by running a seems-to-be-stupid show and charging people for it???

This is easy. Find the turkey in Sony who came up with the business model for Qore and politely ask him or her if they would not be happier working for Microsoft on the XBox.

So you are behind in sales of the PS3. The answer, charge folks money for what is basically a cable show. If the cuteness of camera angles, etc. is to take off, the best way to kill the launch is to charge money to folks who are used to getting everything but a game for free.

Love the name although a former US Vice President will probably sue for misspelling his name.

Yet You failed to mention the host of this upcoming show was Veronica Belmont....wow that's certainly a big PLUS for Sony for choosing so wisely!
By the way to all of those reading the comments and wondering where I got this information from...just go to cnet tv and watch today's episode of Loaded (06/04/08) and you will see I am not lying.

You are dumb. Your points are fruitless and dont make much sense. To me, Xbox Live is great and I am glad that it costs. Have you ever downloaded anything on the PSN?? it is slow and sucks. XBL is so much faster and has so much more content. I am very happy to pay $50 per year for the service.

Yeah. Thats extra dude. Dont get him Halo 3 LMP then. Your kids loss. If I have to have it, then I will pay the extra lously $10 and be over it......

To me this is more like an interactive magazine or a TV show. I pay for my magazines so I don't see why I wouldn't pay for this if I decide I want it. Its not like they are charging you to play a game online after you already paid for it. This is completely optional and something more like the TV shows you buy on Xbox Live. I know its cool to bash Sony and the PS3 but complaining about this is like complaining about not getting EGM for free or being able to download X-play for free on your Xbox.

I just want to make something more clear than I did in my previous statement. The people who are making the majority money off this are the developers ect ect who are featured in this "show". This is by no means a way for sony to make money (although I am sure they get a small percentage just like anything else ps3 related).

@Pathogens, At the rate of sony's servers, the only thing affecting the speed of your download will be your internet service. My downloads go at exactly the speed I am paying for all the time on my ps3 as does everyone with a ps3/xbox 360 I know. If you had any valid complaint towards this issue it would be that the 360 downloads slower based on the fact that microsoft is not as prepared as sony when it comes to supply and demand. An example of this would be the downed xbl service last christmas. I must put in however that my friends 360's download at a reasonable speed too so I see no issue in this subject on either side.

Sony doesn't have to worry about not having enough servers because there's not near the amount that Xbox has online.
by brandonh33 June 5, 2008 12:11 PM PDT
@Kalel33 Last christmas the ps3 had more sales of consoles and also had a larger growth than the 360. One more thing to add to this is that psn is free so the vast majority of ps3s are online while you have to pay for xbl so not as many people were actually affecting the growth. So in conclusion the amount of ps3s added to psn far exceeds the amount of xbl accounts made but because microsoft is not as prepared they had a major crash, while sony had no issues at all.

Sony charges for this simply because they THINK they can...just because they are Sony, and as we all are supposed to know and believe, Sony is GREAT (not).

As theremustbeCHAOS has said Qore is exactly that, a magazine..a full HD interactive demo filled PS3 exclusive magazine. I pay $4.99 for both Newsweek and Time, and they NEVER have demos so 3 bucks dont sound too bad to ole boy over here. And online gameplay is still free so i'm not complaining.

I beleive people are still going to pay for the qore due to the fact people still pay for xbox live like the live account when you view episodes you pay even if you have an account and guess what the content is good that people actually pay for it it is a winning straqtegy but it is also good because the content wil be in bottled in a package so 25 bucks a year gives you unlimited content great i get to watch many things compared but i mean it depends on content and if it is going to combine online play in which i beleive is free as well so owel winning strategy its buisness you know
