Wow, that sucks on so many levels. No thanks, BioWare. Could you at least hurry up with Jade Empire 2 so I can have something of yours to look forward to?

Let's hope they don't destroy it and make it totally unplayable as they did to Star Wars Galaxies. Well, at least we got two years on enjoyment from it. {sigh}

Well, it's not KotOR per say but it's something. The bad news is that it's another MMO. Looks like it is at least going to explain what happened to Revan. I really would have preferred another single player game but I guess MMOs are more popular, and more financially lucrative, right now.

It'll be rushed out with most things untested and most areas not developed. Same thing happened to Warhammer, Conan, and everything else this industry has to offer. Can't blame them on jumping on this cash cow wagon train but I just wish that some developers would have the balls and talent to actually finish something before opening day. My two coppers worth...

Geez, I hope that they actually finish programming the game this time. KOTOR 2 was an unbelievably rushed and unfinished product (missing entire worlds, cutscenes, essential plot points, and characters). I feel like making it an online affair will just encourage them to rush it even more since they can add thing in 'later'.

Must every f***ing RPG be an MMO? One of the things i liked about KOTOR was the fact that it was a decent game that didn't require me to connect to the internet and dish out even more money every month after spending the money to purchase a copy in the first place!

I love people like you. You misunderstand a lot of things.

NO
ONE
FORCES
YOU
TO
PLAY
A
GAME

Much less pay for it. You choose to do so. If you don't like that it's an MMO - no problem - umm...DON'T BUY THE GAME.

And no computer game can technically be considered a "role-playing game" because you are limited to what the game allows you to do - so you are unable to fulfill a role properly anyways.

Not every mmo out there costs you monthly fees. Rohan online, Requiem Bloodymare, perfect world, all free great mmorpgs, and of course the great to look at guildwars franchise is free to play. Just surprised its taken this long to finally get round to making this, lets just hope its not just a rehash of everything thats been and gone and they add something new to the mix while still retaining that true starwars feel

Well, This is great news indeed. I myself am a fan of the series I have played *nearly* every possible way through that game and find the game fun. It is great because people will have a new MMO to turn to other than SWG (Star Wars Galaxies) I personally enjoyed the game and how it was. It was actually like a storyline but the problem with MMO's is not what the AI's will do its what the Players will due. A player talking and messing with someone can alter someone elses gameplay. But if it goes along similar to Guild Wars (Another popular MMO) were the person can talk to people in the city but when they go out of a "Zone" they become a solo player with some AI heros to accompany them if they choose it would be a lot better and they get more of the "Hardcore Storyline" that fans will enjoy. If they truely enjoy the gameplay they got playing singleplayer some of them will enjoy it alone as well. Remember the Character Switching option in both KOTOR games? Yes people enjoy that. But thank god BioWare,LucasArts are answering the many posts stating they want some Multiplayer in the KOTOR Franchise. Enjoy all.

I will truely be playing this game if indeed they get allow old computers to play. Since KOTOR didn't have that much SERIOUS requirements for the game and I could play it on my Pentium 4 processor with a NIVIDA 4200 Ti w/ AGP8X Graphics card and 512MB of RAM I think it should have low options for the game to suit the few players out there who cannot afford to upgrade there PC's because of Money Issues. This game should be great. I hope to see it get great but one thing I am questioning:
Are they going to bleed our pockets dry when they release Expansions to the game. I personally think they should be free.

Thanks for the post Daniel Terdiman I enjoy breaking news like this that make me enjoy my day a little better.

Thanks agian,
Falling-Inferno

BioWare is a proven company that can deliver excellent storylines and character development BUT they've always been weak in the technology department. An MMO takes a tremendous amount of technical know how in order to avoid consumer outrage and I just don't think BioWare can pull it off unless they're getting help from the outside.
I've played my share of MMOs and like first person shooters -- I'm just plain bored with the same old ideas being rehashed over and over again. Sometimes there's a game that tries to break the mold ala Guild Wars but I feel SWTOR is just going to be another MMO with an awesome story and alot of technical problems.

Here is an opportunity for LucasArts to unmake the mistakes they made with Star Wars Galaxies. A robust crafting system and player based economy, a sandbox style of character development, and reasons for social interaction will determine if this MMO becomes the new home for tens of thousands of disaffected SWG fans.

There was nothing wrong with pre-cu galaxies that could not be fixed--it was a short-sighted kneejerk me-too reaction to WoW. WoW is wildly popular no doubt, but that is the exception, not the rule, to MMO's . Even the Beatles could only make one Abbey Road.

This looks really good in my opinion, for those who complain about the graphics from the screen shots, don't worry! They only just started developing the game, it will be a lot better when their done.
But I do realize nobody here complained, however there have been many complaints on other forums so just giving u the heads up on that. Also I hope(like every1 else) that this will have no monthly fees!!
