Does anyone on CNet do fact checking? Has anyone on here ever heard of NEDM or Caturday?

This article is complete trash and if the writer had actually done research he would have know that lolcats ripped off (blantanly) NEDM and Caturday. Not to say that they aren't innovators in stealing other people work, but they have never once credited 4chan or ytmnd.com. the TRUE originators of what they sadly branded as lolcats.

I don't understand how at a convention of "geeks" they didn't get booed off stage.

Listen, cnet you know the rules , as do i. I thought you had commitment to good articles. I usually cant get good journalism from any other site. Cnet, i just wanna explain my feelings, so that you might better understand...This article makes me wanna give cnet up, it totally let me down! Its like cnet just turned around, which compleatly hurt me! This made me cry, and now Im ready to say goodbye, this is not a lie, it hurt me. Ive known cnet, for so long, and i bet you guys know whats going on too, this is a game we both gotta plaaaay! Dont even bother asking me how I am feeling !

1. You forgot to say "I think."

2. Did you see the whole presentation? (Let me answer that: no.)

This article is total horsesh*t! They just stole a bunch of memes from 4chan and ytmnd and other image boards.

It is idiots like these that make the web a bad place, not the pedophiles and terrorists.

@terminalblue and @NouberNou

If you download the presentation, you will notice that we do give credit to 4chan and Something Awful (URL in the first picture).

Also, visit the ICHC About page and you will also see that credit is given there.

Cheers,
Ben

Wow, someone's job is writing stories about flavor of the month Internet meme's. Can anyone say all your bases belong to us and whatever else is wasting time at the moment. The internet makes you stupid!

Fun fact: You do not need to read every story or click on every link, you know. You could easily have avoided reading the story so what compelled you to not only click the link but even take the time to comment says volumes - but about you, not the author...
by sanenazok August 26, 2008 7:32 AM PDT
Haha and you don't need to read every comment. If nobody complains about stories like this C|Net will continue to run them. Relax with the personal attacks, though now that says volumes about you.

Circa 2005: Caturday.

Even if the presentation etc give credit there, this article clearly needs a fact checking.

I'm more offended that this site is somehow considered a "household" site.

Amazon is a "household" name
Yahoo is a "household" name

....I can has cheezburger is just a highly visitied website more than likely visited by a specific demographic. Ask someone's grandma about this site and find out how much of a "household" name it is!
