Comments on: Poll: Why don't you have an iPod or MP3 player?

What's wrong with you? Doesn't everybody have one of these things?

I have a Sandisk Mp3 player that doesn't need to be linked or synced to iTunes( that I can't stand).
And it sounds a great deal better then a Ipod which I think sounds bright and tinny even with better
headphones.I rather listen to the radio though, and my player has a good tuner with 21 presets.
I am 55 and a mp3player is not essential, but it is convenient and gets the job done for a small device.

I'm 20, but still have my cassette walkman and old discman. I've used mp3 players before, but to me, I just find the quality of the music's lacking compared to cd's or cassette's. When I can, I always try to buy the vinyl or cd copy over going to itunes. To date, I've bought one album off itunes and that was it. I have nothing against it, but I just feel mp3's lack the feel you get from buying that new cd or record and opening it for the first time.

Doesn't anyone burn cd's anymore? I can understand not buying them. I never buys cd's anymore. I haven't bought an mp3 player yet. I'm not really sure why, it probably has to do with the fact that they're pricey, and I don't often have a lot of cash for things like that. I download most of my music from the internet, and then burn it to a cd. Most of my music is on my computer or on burned cd's. I guess when it comes to I-pods, that's one thing that I'm really behind the times on. I'm 23 years old.

About The Audiophiliac

Ex movie theater projectionist Steve Guttenberg has more or less successfully hitched his future to home theater, but he still pines for the clickity-clack of 35 MM projectors and all the stale popcorn he could eat. Between projectionist gigs he worked as a high-end audio salesman for sixteen years, and produced records for an audiophile label. Oh, and one more thing, nothing annoys Steve more than being confused with the other Steve Guttenberg, the washed-up Police Academy actor. The wordsmith Guttenberg is a frequent contributor to a number of magazines and websites including Home Entertainment, Playback, and Ultimate AV. He is a member of the CNET Blog Network and is not an employee of CNET. Disclosure.
