Web sites launch all the time, but they also shut their doors. We highlight 15 that bit the dust this year.
Let the debate begin: Was the iPhone more important than iTunes? Was anything bigger than Google finding a great business model? CNET offers its list of the 10 most important stories of the '00s.
At the start of the 21st century, there's no tech outfit more influential than Apple. CNET News' Erica Ogg and other reporters will attempt to make sense of the rumors, hype, products, and people that will shape the future of the company. But Apple's not the only game in town, as the established cell phone companies and others strike back against the iPhone. E-mail Erica at erica.ogg@cnet.com.

look goes all the way back to the PowerBook G4. The MacBooks are relatively new designs in comparison.

laptop, and all the custom built laptops out there come in millions
of colors....nOOb
Maybe we decide we like what Apple offers and then we buy it!!!! I'm pretty sure I was never forced to choose them and told "You like this now." I'm pretty sure I went "Hmmm, I need something to video at a professional level and dont want to put up with hassle of having and Avid system that throws a fit every time I try to add a clip to the time line. I guess that leaves Final Cut Pro. Sweet I can have a personal laptop and editing computer all in one!!"
Have not regretted buying Apple on bit. Sure, I was a Windows user and wasn't supper thrilled. Try and separate me and my Mac now and I will murder you in front of a cop, its my baby.
60% better airport signal strength over it's pricier aluminum
mate. 802.11g suffers greatly, 802.11b a touch less. The
antenna is in the lid, and 2 inch plastic 'windows' on the sides
just don't cut it. If wifi is important to your laptop needs, the
Faraday cage of a MacBook Pro really hampers things.
And the plastic seems less prone to stupid user tricks. It might
crack upon dropping, but it doesn't shape deform to the point of
unusability as do the Al books. Seen a warped MacBook pro on
a table just wobble? Or a battery that won't seat in its slot?
Macs can take quite a beating -- they are one of the most
robust machines out there for taking normal daily abuse. But
the metal skins aren't all good.
would come out with new products as a result of Intel's better
performance-per-watts ratio. That was 3 years ago, a decade in
the PC timeline. It's about time he made good on his word.
But to be honest, I'm not really looking forward to the next
revision. Apple has clearly demonstrated its intention of
becoming a full-fledged consumer electronics company. The
next line will be more gadget-like rather than something useful
we could use for work.
But as the Mac Guy insinuates, work? That's for boring old men
in stuffy suits. The Mac is all about eternal youth and
neverending playtime, babeh.
the autho is suggesting multitouch to the macbook, he says it needs it just like how the mbp and air already have it.

- I am pretty sure that the new line of macbooks will look very similar to the macbook air. That being a black back lit keyboard, thicker design but still slim, lass exposed jacks. I am pretty sure that is what you can expect. It should be based off the macbook air.
