Apple blew it on Safari Spam

Apple just lost a devout fan with their obnoxious pop-up windows that keep appearing on my PC wanting me to install Safari. I keep clicking cancel, and every night when I come home, there's another Apple window on my screen wanting to know if I want to install Safari. I think this Safari mess started the last time I updated iTunes.

After this obnoxious attack, Apple must be kidding if they think I will ever install Safari...or any update for other Apple software that I don't absolutely need, given the stunt they just pulled. You know the old saying "Customer loyalty...it's hard to earn, easy to loose, and impossible to get back once lost."

The title of this article was right on! "Think before you install". Thanks for the article.

Really, the point isn't "well, just don't install safari". Because iTunes 9 now REQUIRES safari in order for you to access the apple store.
Nor is it "Just don't use iTunes." Because it's still bullsh*t that i'm using a program, and then snap!, i can't use it anymore unless i download a program i don't want. You expect that from a 25¢ peep show, not from a corporate business trying to convince people to exclusively use their reliable products. Also, i don't want to have to go through the frustration of re-doing my whole music set-up every time they get greedy.
It is extra lame, seeing as this is coming from a company that has/still is branding itself as the company that doesn't pull the same kind of **** as Microsoft. And that's the point.
I'm entitled to call foul on hypocritical ********.

CNET News' Erica Ogg and other reporters will attempt to make sense of the rumors, hype, products, and people that will shape the future of the company.
