Web sites launch all the time, but they also shut their doors. We highlight 15 that bit the dust this year.
Let the debate begin: Was the iPhone more important than iTunes? Was anything bigger than Google finding a great business model? CNET offers its list of the 10 most important stories of the '00s.
At the start of the 21st century, there's no tech outfit more influential than Apple. CNET News' Erica Ogg and other reporters will attempt to make sense of the rumors, hype, products, and people that will shape the future of the company. But Apple's not the only game in town, as the established cell phone companies and others strike back against the iPhone. E-mail Erica at erica.ogg@cnet.com.

but we, the early adopters are who support the product, and
thanks to that, the new user will have it for free.
At the beginning of the keynote, Steve said thanks for
supporting Apple, but is this they way to show your thankfulness
to your loyal customers?
I think it would have being a whole different story he Jobs said:
Thanks for your support and to show you our gratitude, we just
made an update that we will give you for FREE!
It is not the 20 bucks, the iTouch itself is much much more than

Showing 3 of 3 pages (95 Comments)in the keynote: that Apple would provision new Mac Pros with
the high-end NVidia GeForce 8800 GT, and sell them for older
Mac Pro owners. Every PC tech site has raved about this video
card as having fantastic performance for its price, beating cards
costing up to $500 last year. It's what Mac gamers have been
clamoring for, and will be available soon. Even if Apple sells the
Mac-approved cards for their usual $50-100 surcharge (PC GeForce 8800 GT cards are available for as little as $250), they'll
be more than worth it.
I will be among the first in line to order one so I can play all the
newest PC games like Crysis as well as have blistering OS-X
performance. I only wish Steve had plugged high-end video
performance in the keynote so all the Windows gamers could
see Apple's getting very competitive in that arena.
