Probably overstates the probability. The fact is no one really knows. If it happens to be released at 12:00PST then it's just a mere coincidence. I speculate that it will be released at a random hour - such as 3:23am PST in order to diminish any server outages!

lol - maybe this time maybe that time. . . . . poor journalism from rank amateurs!

On top of that, we're in Daylight Saving Time, so it would be 12:00 PDT, not PST.

Previous opinions about my comments I accept and respect. Don't get me wrong I've looked at it from a market/business stand point to and yes Apple would lose alot of money. Unfortunately though I'm still a little disappointed. Mostly about the video function and voice command function that is given to 3G S. Plus theres rumors going around that ATT is going to up the rates for the iphone phone plans as well.

To bpm1029 : if I do that would I have to pay cacellation/disconnect fee for current line? What do I do with my line now, and not to mention are you sure about ATT giving the 3G S up for 299.99 plus tax. To my knowledge these prices were for new customers only or existing customers signing a new 2yr. contract.

See Ibraaheem thats funny because ATT didn't even know about Iphone 3G S when it was first announced. Not even last week friday. I called customer service and even also spoke with a sales ass. in the local ATT store and they didn't know anything either. So even if your an employee unfortunatley ATT might not disclose new info until the last minute. From what I gather anyway Apple and ATT work together with letting customers know things right at the last minute only when it comes to the Iphone.

It's 8:20 AM in Malta, EU and still nothing. It's still 11:20PM in Cupertino, maybe it has to be 17th there for their servers to release the update. Come on Apple I'm waiting! :P

Sad to say, but some of the core ATT stores have some pretty crappy agents. The one that I go to locally has screwed up my account so bad that I have started driving 30 minutes to the NLR, AR store to have them do any changes that I have to have done.

I totally agree about the AT&T staff being crappy. The other day one actually told me I should work there because I knew more than he did. I mean really, that may be true, but at least don't let people know. He was going on about how the 3g could record video. Yeah...I was thinking the same thing...

if you look at www.wireless.att.com it goes over the choice of adding a line and or upgrading

Also are there any fees besides the cacel??
by deadlydrew June 16, 2009 11:26 PM PDT
the core store here know NOTHING.
they are morons.
they thought that as soon as i get the phone i can mms.
they didn't know they aren't ready.
and told me they are ready, and that it will work,
as soon as the update releases, which the idiot thought had already released.
all of the ones at my local store are ignorant,
i have to google everything
they said they'd guarantee me a 3gs for exchanging the 3g i just got
even if they run out.
so i like them.

and i'm pretty sure it won't release at midnight,
as we are all waiting,
we'd overload the servers.
i'm with whoever said it'd be a random time.
like 2:54 or something.

It was a ATT store and I spoke with more than one person in the store and also on the phone. Inform the company that there Southwest FL staff needs better training or good replacements. Hey who knows maybe I could work for ATT one day. I wish they would hire me.

i applied to ATT and didn't get hired.
it kinda angered me,
